In this guide, you will learn the very basics of DOTA. DOTA is basically a online game played on Warcraft 3: The Frozen Throne Expansion. DOTA stands for Defense Of The Ancients.

Definitions To Know

• Houses: There are 9 Different Houses. Each of the Houses Has its own side such as the Sentinel and the Scourge and is divided into the 3 Specials.

• Mana: Mana is Bascially the amount of power the hero has to execute it's specials. The more the mana, the Better.

• The Scourge and The Sentinel: In DOTA, their are bascially 2 sides. The Scourge and the Sentinel. When starting the game, you pick which side you want to play on. Their is really no main difference on which side to go to.

There are 3 basic types of Heroes:

• Strength

• Agility

• Intelligence

The Breakdown of Heroes:

Strength:

-Have Harder Hits.
-Are Melee Based.
-Have a Higher HP Then Most.
-Have lowest amount of mana.

Agility:

-Are Faster Then Heroes in other Houses.
-Are Melee/Range based.
-Are basically the Medium Heroes.

Intelligence:

-Have Most Amount of Mana.
-Are All Melee Based.
-Do not hit the highest.
-Mediocre in Speed.

Finally,lets discuss Game Modes. Their are different Game modes. Game Modes set how you pick your hero, how much money you obtain, and how many lanes are open. For beginners, -apem is recommended. As you get more experienced, you should start playing -sd, or -rd.

-ap = All Pick = You get to choose your own hero from the 9 houses.
-rd = Random Draft = You have a huge circle with heros. You take turns picking which hero you want to play with.
-sd = Single Draft = On your home circle, you have 3 heroes. From the 3, you pick which you want to play with.

Remember that you must have the Warcraft 3 BattleChest which includes Reign of Chaos and Frozen Throne.

 

Things to improve:

• Definition's To Know: ---> Definitions to know
• Use [ LIST="1"] and [ /LIST] for the definitions.
• House's ---> Houses
• "-Their are 3 Basic types of heroes." --- Why punctuation and the "-"? It's not a list, but rather have a colon at the end.
• The Different Types Specialties. ---> The breakdown of Heroes:
• Use [ LIST] and [ /LIST] for the sub-articles to the types of Heroes.
• "The Last thing I will be Talking about is Game Modes." -- Finally, let's discuss Game Modes. If you've ever written an essay, one should never write what they are going to tell you about.
• "For more info on Specific Hero's in Detail" -- For more information on specific Heroes in detail, please visit [link].
• "Rain of Chaos" ---> Reign of Chaos
• "Frozen Thronze." ---> Frozen Throne

Sorry if this is too harsh, but merely all of the flaws I've discovered in the Guide. As for the colors throughout all of your Guides, I absolutely love them, and it's absolutely easy on the eyes.

The Guide is good as well, for the content, but I also feel it has the ability to be expanded to explain such things as strategy and gameplay. However, this is nice basic Guide for those who wish to begin it, and where they can seek additional information at.

Overall? 7/10
