I think that UE's are good for the sythe community. If you think different thats your own opinion. But face it the UE applications and/or ranks are a part of sythe and its going to stay that way.

CJMT, I am guessing you don't know me. I was a HUE myself, and it was fun while it lasted. Deacon's right, I myself, even accepted losers that didn't know how to write guides (Why?) because the user educators that time were stupid, too. It was all favorites back then, and I am not sure if it is now.

Well that was an interesting read, not sure where to begin.

I guess first off, the ranks mean nothing. If people see it as trust, that is their own fault. Anyone with even a bit of common sense can see that. Don't get me wrong the ranks are nice, and they are an incentive, but they are NOT necessary in the slightest, and as you well know Deacon, they weren't originally even there. When I first started writing my guides it was a User Title and that's all.

You seem to be debating the word choice in the term "User Educator" more than anything. Did you have a suggestion for a replacement term? The reason we have it is the same reason we have VB programmer, Scar, etc. ranks. They're just there for people actually active in the section.

I respect everything you've said Deacon and for the most part (if not all of it) is correct, however you seem to be looking at it in a different light.

If I recall correctly there was a comment on the difference between "knowledge" and "intelligence" which I'm here to tell you are essentially the same thing.

Well I'm not entirely sure what else I can do to refute your statements, so if you have a comment back Deacon, I'd be more than willing to converse with you about it. I know that you dislike the UE and how it is run so if you have a suitable alternative, then I'm all ears. (To clarify, removing it is not a suitable alternative).

Ok, if the ranks mean no significance, then why not remove them, and leave them with a unbolded or colored user title. It's the own user's fault if they can't check the user education member list, am I right? They don't need anything special to help another member on a forum, and any member on the forum can google their question anyway.

I fail to see why they have ranks, too. But, I guess they are deemed to be appropriate because sythe assigned them to those select users, because they obviously have experience in the language they program. They can actually teach the language to a person that doesn't know it.
