Merchanting- Love it or Hate it?

I hate it just because you need a shit load of patience for it and I have none.

 

It's sad to say that many people now-a-days believe that Price Manipulation (So called Merchanting Clans), is the only way of merchanting.

And really with the Grand Exchange it's more like investing.

so in short I DISLIKE Price Manipulation.

But I enjoy investing, (buying items, based on the trends on the graphs).

 

I love it. Make 10m in a few days

I hated the new merchanting when the G.E came out but I gave it a try several times to only lose money, usually because I would merch with clans and they aren't very trust worthy when it comes to dumping items, so then I tried solo merching and made way more then planned, I've made 6m this week just from merching, just gotta get the hang of it .

 

depends wich clan u join. and personally i sell earlier then the clan does then u dont get scammed/ripped off/ desperate to sell the item. Its alright.

I love it, but with the like Money restrriction on like 60k merching = crap. plus the GE plays a major part and nubs dont bother asking for stuff they just go to the GE.

 

Well, can i ask for anyone who votes/posts next to give some info on merching, i would like to see how it actually is... so I dont rant on something i might actually like

 

I have no respect for merchanters for destroying the econemy and is just a cheap way for noobs to make money since they don't have the proper skills to do it legimately.

I prefer to make money by slaying monsters and killing in pvp- the proper and honorable way that gains you xp and requires skill. I have no respect for those that stand around in w2 for countless hours just trying to sell a torags helm for 40k more (max).

I did think solo merchanting in the old days was fine though.. for example, going to edge and then selling sharks for 1.5k ea or dds for 60k each.
That way, everyone is happy. Be a noob and stand in w2 ripping people off, get a life.

 

Right. Because mindlessly killing/monsters/making runes and whatnot is obviously the best way to make cash. God forbid we should use our brains to try and predict when the best time is to make the most cash quickest. We should ALL go spend months trying to get mills insted of being able to do it quickly. Why do more work than is needed? I'd assume the shortest route would be the smartest choice. But pride for a stupid cape is SOOOO much more important than thinking.
And you 76k. Yea, that requires epic stats to make the cash.

I used to merchant gilded armours for money. In the end I had around 30m+ just from that. Before then I made about a mil-a-day merching dragon boots and obby capes.

 

You REQUIRE the stats to go to god wars. If you think you're so smart with your statement, why don't you go try to kill even just a green dragon with your lvl3 and pile of cash? Yes I would have more pride that way, to say that I slayed a mightly god war boss monster then to say that I sat my ass all day on my computer in w2 spamming to make my cash. And I actually take advantage of more of the games' features, the reason why I play, than just a Grand Exchange and a crowd of kids in w2.

My Skill cape has better stats than those cavier hats or common skiller outfit items and offers the best overall bonuses for a cape (excluding fire cape, but that requires combat also).

When did I say I 76k'd? I kill bounty targets. Let's see you try that then and not die everytime..

Edge merch in the old days was alright... everyone was happy in the end. Paying extra for a dds and sharks wasn't a big deal since the pkers got what they wanted at what they paid for and the merchers made money. But now I can't stand those kids that form a group of nerds and mass buy an item to piss everyone else off- because we innocent players all have to fork over our cash just so a bunch of kids can sit on their ass all day and watch their gp rise. I still remember the good old days when I used to go to zanaris after buying a bunch of weapon poison ++s and making dds..

GE ruined merchanting for me :/ I liked that before, but now I dislike it.

 

I dont like merch clans, but solo merching is great.
