Pros and Cons: 1 def pure vs. Zerker

Hey all, I was wondering what you believed was the pros and cons against 1 def pures and zerkers. I have a friend that's a zerker and I currently have a 1 def pure and we were kinda debating the pros and cons to the different pures. So I was wondering what you guys think about them? Would you be a zerker or a 1 def pure. List pros and cons for the pure you pick.

It all depends. It's all about the person pking on the character rather then the character itself.

Say you have a Pure with 60 attack 99 str 1 def, Vs a Zerker with 60 attack 45 defence 99 strength.

In any normal case you would most likely win as a Zerker because of the minimum attack and the 45 defence, however if you get a real pker with 99 range aswell as strength then the pure will most likely win because he has better experience.

A maxed hybrid Vs a Maxed Zerker would be a equal fight because the hybrid has enough experience to be able to fight vs defence well.

Stats only play a small portion in the pking roll, the person pking on the account is the main thing.

You can be a pure and kill a Zerker, easily if you have the experience, or the other way around. It all depends.

No one wants to watch your terribly edited videos.

I'm not really looking for who would win in a fight between them. I'm looking to see which one is generally better then the other at pking.

 

Zerkers = When PVP was released most of my 1 Def pure friends got 45 defense because in Bh you could be a maxed Zerker pure and you'd be versing people with 70 defense and you'd get raped. So when PvP came out it made it fair.

Ah yes, I am very familiar with Nacho's guide. I still want other peoples opinions though.

 

ZERKER PROS/CONS
Zerkers have to worry about rune defenders and torsos. Well, if they want to be good.
The 40/45 def raises combat a lot.
Zerkers can have a higher str bonus.


1 DEF PROS/CONS
1 Def is lower combat, which is better.
Less str bonus.
Can be hit harder on.

 

Zerkers fail, in every aspect. A maxed zerker is combat 104, and they cant even compare there skills with ranged tanks, which is the same combat.

 

Lol? Range tanks are mostly built upon random hits with Cbow.

Zerkers own pures. So what you're lower combat. With lower def you can't experience the game as much as zerkers, your money making ways are limited. Even though you fight higher levels, it also holds the possibility to get higher loot than monk robes, dds, and sharks.

Pures are cool, but meh, i'd still go with Zerkers.

 

In my opinion, Zerkers are much more fun to pk with. It allows you to do all of the fun stuff (abyss craft, castle wars, and fight pits) without being owned too badly. There are a lot of quests and mini-games that need to be done before you can be a successful zerker, but I enjoy quests, so it makes it even better.

Pures, on the other hand, are more fun to be skillers on. It looks much more impressive to have multiple skill capes at such a low level. They are decent pkers if fighting another pure. Pures are more for showing off, really.

A maxed Pure wouldn't beat a maxed zerker.

I think if you are unsure about which account to make start with a 1 def pure and play untill youg et bored then turn it into a zerker.

Pro Zerker:
Higher max hit.
Opens up alot of places to train.
Generally better loot because you are fighting higher levels.
Makes skilling easier.

Cons zerker:
CB level is higher.

 

To be honest, Lvl 1 Def Pures have like 20 second fights, if you want a decent fight you would have to be Zerker. I also prefer 75 def over 45 .

 

Zerkers are awesome if you don't have a high lvl main to play with.
They just allow to play the game as main while still owning as a pker.

 

What failboat did you get off of. Pures have more, or a greater advantage in a fight, depending on the person pking on the account.

People can have amazing Zerkers and get dropped by Pures just because the person pking on the account has no experience pking whatsoever.

 

I have had an insane rune pure which got banned, it had max strength bonus (barrow gloves, fire cape) all with 82 attack, 96 strength, 45 defence and 52 prayer.


Pro's of Berserker Pures:
Allows Max Strength Bonus
Hit's Incredibly High
Allows Vengeance
Vs's Higher Levels and therefore gets better loot

Cons of Berserker Pures
Takes a lot of planning to make a REAL berserker pure, i mean getting barrow gloves and still keeping 45 defence and 52 prayer, most people fuck up and get 46 - 50 defence from quests.
Takes a long time to make due to all the additional quests that need to be done
Gets owned by tank rangers
Can be expensive to replace pk'ing items when you die.

Pro's of 1 Defence Pures
Very easy to make, requires minimal quests
Very quick to make
Very cheap to replace items when you die (the most expensive items that need to be replaced are a dds and black hide chaps, which isn't much in comparison to a berserker pure)
If you are a pj nerd, then a 1 defence pure is more beneficial
Owns low level rune pures, rune pures suck until they are about level 85 combat, but you still see lots of them around level 70 - 85.

Con's of a 1 Defence Pure
Gets destroyed by tank rangers
Doesn't get much loot since players its combat level don't wear much expensive items
Low strength bonus

I believe that you shouldn't get 45 def unless you got at least 85+ strength.
I always see people making idiotic 45 def pures with just 70 ish str... seriously, you would be like lvl what, 82 when everyone else your level will have 99?

 

True words xwinx, I've seen so many people with like 60 str and 45 def.

Zerkers are slightly better because of barrows gloves.

 

1 defence is better for the following reasons:

1 Defence pures don't need hours and hours of work and expensive gear to pk with.

Zerkers NEED (to be good) the following:

Berserker helmet =60-80k
Fury = 2.4-2.6mill
Fighter torso = takes SEVERAL hours to get and you lose it on death
Rune platelegs = 45k
Rune boots = 40-60k?
Berserker ring = 2.9mill
Firecape = VERY hard to get, lost on death
Barrows Gloves. 100k


So when you die on a zerker, you lose TONS of good items + cash.

When you die on a 1 defence account, you only lose ghost robes/black d hide/food etc. never totaling more than 500k for a death. (unless risking claws/whip/dbow etc)
