Need help with insane XBOX LIVE LAG.

Okay i need some help.

I have a Netgear router connected to my modem. And my Xbox is connected from 20feet Ethernet cord to the router.
The router has about 4 computers always on the internet about the same
time i am on Xbox live. My high speed internet is really fast , i am not sure why its so laggy on Xbox Live. I try to play Halo3 like, i join the game its perfect 1min later it goes red bar for the ENTIRE game and at the end it goes back green for the last 5 kills. What the fuck is wrong with my connection?

i was fuckin around. Hmm its probably cause of the 4 computers that are on your same connection. Is your connection secured by wep?

 

I can help. And I know exactly what it is. When I bot RuneScape on one computer and play runescape on the other. The second I sign into XBL, it'll lag all the cpus out and lag live.

You situation is in reverse. If you share an internet connection and there are more than 2 things working on it at the same time, you're screwed.

My suggestion: Get a Belken Wireless Network Utiliy. Its a little USB plugin device that boosts your connection to all your computers by 2 bars (at least). That will keep the computers well supplied with a connection and wont have them suck speed from other devices on the network.

Also. Try to limit what you do on live. If you're on live with just one xbox, try to get the $100 wireless connection piece (instead of the plugin cable). That increases speed and doesnt suck power.

I did all this and have little to no problems.

if it doesnt work for you, my suggestion is to just turn off a couple computers when you get on live.

Well, if you have DSL and aren't using a filter on it there is your problem. My friend uses DSL and he lags all the time if someone uses a computer or talks on the phone. If it's cable or fiber optic I'm not sure.
