That's a lot of power for a user, even if they are carefully selected.

I'm not trying to shift any blame from myself or the other mods though, the reports certainly are backed up.

    All right, nevermind then.

I just thought I would suggest something since not many of the mods are doing reports.

Moderators aren't required to do them. It is a volunteer basis.

I do agree the reports are getting a little out of hand, but I think they aren't the most important thing.

That is why I suggested this. Members would volunteer.

Members would do it for the power. Mods should be required to do it, there are 11 Globals, about 2 Rs mods and 6 or so Market mods and hardly anyone does spam reports but NickV. Out of 11 globals, Ben and Daily are the most active (R33l now that he is global, we'll see how that goes) and I know Ben does as many reports as he can when he isn't busy doing other things, and NickV does alot of spam reports. Mods who don't have big responsibility, such as Rs Mods need to take the time to start doing more reports.

Butttt. We were doing fine before.... We do not need members to do it. If they can infract, they should be moderators anyways. No point in making RAS dudes.

But they wouldn't be members anymore, they would be RaS sectionals.

Therefore, no lesser than the other sectionals.

But they would be, as all the other sectionals already moderate the RaS section, plus, a whole new mod group just for spam reports seems bulky and unnecessary and might now reflect the site as beset as it should (ex. "Welcome to Sythe! We have so much spam here, we need a whole group of moderators just to deal with it!").

Nah. It'd be too much power for a normal member. But it can minimize the work that needs to be done by the existing mods. This needs to be debated more.

Oh nice math Sinn. The thing that I'm stuck up on with this little excuse is... Well...

    60 reports a day / 26 mods = 2 reports per mod...

Now lets say only half of those mods get on one day. I mean, you guys also have the excuse that you have "lives".

    60 reports a day / 13 mods = Roughly 5 reports per mod.

5 reports takes no time at all. I would know just if anyone wants to question that it takes no time to do 5 reports.

In those same 2 weeks, we've also answered about 30 pages. So, I must amend my estimation to 72 pages of spam reports every two weeks.

Also, of the (25) mods, 5 are admins and aren't supposed to be doing spam reports. Globals also have other priorities - before setting a limit for the spam forum, we'd have to further set mod requirements for the scam and dispute forums. In the absorption of their time towards those efforts, the modding they currently do would have to be put aside, and therefore, there would be yet more spam for the remaining sectionals to deal with.

Thus, that does not seem to be the right solution to this particular problem. (Not to mention the aforementioned issues with telling mods what they have to do and how much of it.)

Whats the point of having so many admins then?

Also okay about globals. The modding you say they do... They don't even do scammer section, so why can't they exchange their inactivity in scammer to do spammer section? All I ever see is you doing them. Benwise did a few but that's hardly anything.

And then dispute forum, not all globals do that either. A lot of sectionals when it involves them resolve the report by responding to it. All a global has to do is move a thread which takes 2 seconds.

Exactly why all Rs Mods should have the permission to do spam reports, besides their section. You don't need that many people to moderate a Runescape section, while one of them moderates it one can do spam reports. Then can switch off, like shifts.

They're not >.> Sectionals can infract anywhere on the forum, and are welcome to do reports outside their sections. However, they do not have forum permissions to lock, delete, or move posts in other sections.
