Disallow the use of avatars with epileptic seizure

Hai,
I recently was looking for a specific user ( https://www.sythe.org/members/dzeny.1454881/ ) to look for proofs of ban evading etc. After looking on his Avatar, i felt really sick, as i have a serious epileptic problem.

I am requesting the rule of disallowing avatars with epileptic seizure. This is a serious healthy problem and dangerous for some ppl, I don’t need to go into details.

The last suggestion of this was like in 2011, where it was denied.
A Sythe Advertise Banner, made my Grave, has been allowed, cause he has paid a lot of money to post it, and it was tolerated.

As this doesn’t benefit anyone here on Sythe, i don’t know why this kind of avatars are still allowed.

No support. I feel like if someone ended up dying from a seizure caused by an avatar it would be great promotion for the site if it makes it to the news.

There's been a recent banner on the site (won't name names, but you guys likely know which one) that legitimately gave me a headache anytime I saw it, and it'd come up often.
While I believe that expressing yourself through the art in your username image/avatar/signature, etc. is great, and shouldn't be too heavily moderated, this is definitely something that shouldn't be allowed.

 

@Grave once gave me a seizure but I still don't support this, if you have epilepsy there's google chrome extensions that you can use to prevent flashing lights and what not. You can search for this yourself and boom your problem is solved without having to add yet another rule.

 

I only support this if it applies to banners as well. Otherwise whats the point.

This. I'm sorry you're epileptic but, as mentioned, there's plenty of extensions to fix what you're suggesting. Take a look around.

 

Anyone supporting this is a braindead retard rat.

I already went over this when people complained about my banner a while ago, but the jist of it is that anyone who actually has epilepsy most likely has a different kind of sensitivity than you guys all think they have and even if they have that specific kind, do you *really* think they're all going to be as dumb as you think they all are and just browsing the internet freely without any sort of precautions? They're epileptic, not fully mentally degenerates.

No support, you’re browsing the internet at your OWN will. If you see something you don’t like or it makes you sick, well guess what! That’s the risk / part of browsing the internet!

 

No support. It's your own responsibility to protect yourself from those kind of images if you suffer from epilepsy. There are addons on chrome that disable this kind of stuff.

Lets forget about disabilities or epilepsy that way we don't have to even begin to discuss ableism or how it wont actually be a problem for epileptics or any of that.

Sythe has plenty of rules about banners, avatars, signatures, and the like. They can only be certain sizes, and placed in certain places. the flashing lights are just unpleasant and don't really provide anything for the aesthetic of the site or the ads/banners/avatars that they are on.

Just like a home owners association regulates how houses in their neighborhood look to a certain extent, we should probably not let a few retards who wanna have fun with flashing banners and avatars make sythe look like a shithole.

 

The ones considered braindead are the ones being uncapable of discussing this.

As a no surprise I'm supporting this, not because I agree or disagree, but because we've always had a ruling against them. Now I can't currently find it in The Official Sythe.org Rules but whenever I reported them, most of them were removed. I say we're either all-in for them, or we're against them, no inbetweens. Surely we can't cater every single person's disabilities, but surely we can do whatever we can do against them. People create/have images resulting in epileptic seizures for a reason, and it ain't because it's pretty.
