I propose that threads made in this section should first be approved by a moderator, before it can be seen by the public.

If a report is valid, a user can get banned/DNTed just when the thread gets approved.
Sometimes users get reported, know they're screwed, but have some time left to quickly scam some people where they can. This would prevent giving them that opportunity.

This has been suggested before, and denied.

    TLDR version is:

    1. Conversely, having reports visible to the public provides oversight and alerts users to the possibility of further scams taking place by this scammer, and as such, prevents them from engaging/trading/allows them to remove wealth of accounts/etc/etc/etc, and mitigate any further risk.

    2. Transparency is key. In line with how private reports are not allowed, this suggestion falls under that same category. Transparency and validity of bans.

I would wager that having reports visible to the public has a significantly greater benefit, than not.

Yea point 1 is definitely true. But most ban evaders are not aware they are about to get banned, up until they could see a report against them.

Point 2: I think this would still be transparent. The difference would however be that a mod would have seen the thread before the possible ban evader could. The rest will still go as it is.

The post itself will be visible to the public once approved by a mod, just like many other sections.

Sure, but similarly, a ban evader may attempt to scam someone, and this public report may prevent this person from being scammed. I understand what you're saying, public report could result in an impulse scam, etc. However, I still believe a public report serves to do more good from the get go, than one approved post-ban.

With most scam quits, normally one of the victims always (and no reason why they always choose this person) videos, weird but true, I do support this for guess but not for the reason on thread, but they should be auto approved once there shown to be no bad content in it

I think this is kind of a catch 22 honestly.
Both points are valid on both sides.

Having the reports publicly would prevent someone like myself from getting scammed, since I always review those forums to keep myself informed; but the majority of users (read: newer users) don't do that.
The newer users that don't keep up with those forums are going to get scammed by this person regardless though, in most likelihoods, assuming that the scammer in question is in a position to do so.
Yes, he's more likely to scam because he's exposed and knows it's coming, but ultimately, he's more likely to scam even bigger if that post doesn't happen in the first place.

At the end of the day, scammers are going to scam, all we can do is be vigilant and do our best to be proactive. Being public at least allows Sythe to be on the side of "The information was there, you just had to look" rather than "Sorry, nobody was around to approve that post before this could happen"

Report a ban evader threads, similarly to scam reports, need to be public instantly when posted in order to inform the public.

While you do have a valid point that a post could be used by a ban evader in order to inform their immediate decisions, the public nature of the section also serves as a tool for regular users to safeguard themselves against people who may have malicious intentions.
