So you think that all the things that are happening as the Bible says they are, are just luck, possibly chance? Name some contradictions? How is it inaccurate? Showing me a verse from a paraphase won't be helping you here. Do you know the origin of the people? Do you know the culture they were in? Their language was different, so depending on the translation, you will even get more accuracy or better readability. Why don't we take this into the do you believe in God thread, this is not where this stuff should belong. This is an opinion thread on what you believe in.

That was the first result you looked on google. I could google evolution contradictions and come up with stuff to. A few results down and you can see the answers to those contradictions. The problem with the 10,000 bullets thing was that in the case of evolution there would have been one bullet and it would be like having to hit a mark from the moon to earth in only one bullet while blindfolded. Like I said, you will get better results trying to seek God rather than trying to find everything against God. Some of those contradictions you are just reading wrong. I could look at some of those paraphrases and still get the real meaning of them without having to look back in the chapter. I'd say for the Bible being around 6000 years old total, they did a good job of still keeping things accurate. For prophecies being told 2000 years ago and still be fulfilled, I'd say it's more than just chance. Some of those aren't wrong. It's like witnesses at a scene. Everyone sees different things and stuff, in the end everyone could have different answers who was there and all of them will be right. People see different things.

What happens... When you are... Dead?

I've met God across his long walnut desk with his diplomas hanging on the wall behind him, and God asks me, "Why?" Why did I cause so much pain? Didn't I realize that each of us is a sacred, unique snowflake of special unique specialness? Can't I see how we're all manifestations of love? I look at God behind his desk, taking notes on a pad, but God's got this all wrong. We are not special. We are not crap or trash, either. We just are. We just are, and what happens just happens. And God says, "No, that's not right." Yeah. Well. Whatever. You can't teach God anything. Fuck you Christians when you die it's going to be like you were born, you never knew you existed.

What happens... When you are... Dead?

You do realize that the bible is a giant book of metaphors do you? The story of Jesus is based on pagan astrology and is simply a metaphor for the sun. Orion's belt consists of 3 stars, and was called the 3 kings back then. The 3 kings followed the brightest star in the sky, sirius, to the place of Jesus' birth. On December 25, the 3 stars and sirius allign and point towards the place where the sun rises. On December 22, the sun is at it's lowest point in the sky right under the southern cross, and doesn't change it's course for 3 days. On December 25, the sun starts moving up again to bring warmer days, spring, etc. So Jesus dies for 3 days on the cross and is resurrected. The story of Jesus is a metaphor for the sun.

Jesus wasn't born in December. The Catholics stole the pagan holiday and made it their own so it wouldn't be evil. The Bible does have a lot of symbolism though, and it's not meant to contain all the answers either.

What about the book of Revelations? Many of the books are symbolic if not all. Even Genesis could be symbolic, each day symbolizes something else. Earth doesn't have to equal <10,000 years. That's a different view though. No one knows when Jesus was born, most people think December 25, my church thinks sometimes in July, and the catholics and mormons believe April 6th. Google can also be my friend too :)

Revelation, my bad. What do you mean correct forecast? As in morals or prophecy? The Bible was written by man inspired by God. It is there to keep order and keep each other in good relationship. We rely on the Bible now days, when we are supposed to rely on God.

Here's a recent one. 1948, Israel becoming a nation again. Even more recent, the economic status of the world, when the antichrist comes it will be at the time where everybody needs help, he will have the "answer" to everything. I took a Christian economics class and have an understanding on that type of stuff. There are plenty of archaeological discoveries of places mentioned in the Bible and they are exactly where the Bible describes them.

Barack Obama is NOT the antichrist. Someone has to be there in order for everything to go right. Obama is a smart man and he is slowly changing America into a socialist mindset. Instead of God is the answer, it's the government is the answer. American has always been socialist but this is a new level. Any google search can show how 1948 was important.

    http://www.1260-1290-days-bible-prophecy.org/bible_prophecy-Israel-nation-1260-years-x2-A-1.htm

that's pretty much the first thing I saw. In order for there to be a temple the Jews need to build it. Right now, Israel is fighting to control the Palestinian territory so that they can build the temple. I don't remember when, but my teacher said that the Jews laid down 1 brick on the temple mount and it caused a war. The one brick symbolizes that one day this will be theirs and they will build on it. Right now both parties want full control over the temple, however, the Israeli's will get it. If the Bible is right like I believe it is, the inner court will be for the jews, and the outer court will be for the gentiles. Most of this is coming from memory so I'm probably off, that's the general jist of it.

After you are dead I personally believe that you stay dead. It may not seem very fulfilling, but I believe it is all we have.

If you do bad things you become an animal next life and if you do bad things you go to a hell? What?

Like with Egyptians, when Ammit eats their heart, they END.

    You just don't exist anymore.

I reckon I will just sort of.. go. Just loose awareness, cease to acknowledge the world around (or more likely, above me...) and just stop existing. I'm intreagued by the concept of heaven and hell though. My mum is reading a book called 'Angels in my Hair' with goes into all of that stuff, and it sounds very interesting.

i mean, way back when, it was the simple belief that you became one with the earth, assuming you had a 'respectful' burial. nowadays, though, it's all about the coffins. so, becoming one with the earth isn't too much of an option.

well, i suppose it's just like being unconscious. or asleep. when you're there, not realizing that you're waiting to be awakened, but nonetheless, you're waiting to be awakened. the only difference is that you never wake.

I'm not so sure that I agree with you in the aspect that the human body is worthless compared to what it really contains. Phineas Gage experienced extreme mental changes after his incident (a large iron rod was driven completely through his head). His personality and behavior were so drastically altered that family and friends saw him as "no longer Phineas Gage."

OT: I'm hopeful that one will be reborn after death. But who knows?

You guys need to relax, the human mind holds a fake sense of conciousness and awareness and to wonder wonder WONDER everything !

Your mind cannot do this. No ones can. When you die, your matter changed into something else. You do not have any senses because you are no longer there. I'm driving my self fucking insane with these threads because it makes me wonder too.

If our minds have a sense of reality then what the hell happens when neurons stop transmitting ??? Nothing. Just nothing. That's my guess at least, no one knows. No one. NO. ONE. will EVER know. ever.
