This is the most effective way to get 99 (in my opinion).​

1-30:
Barbarian outpost (shrimp/anchovies)

Requirements:
None


30-70:
Shilo Village (trout/salmon)

Requirements:
Shilo Village Quest, Dificulty: 6/10


70-97:
Piscatoris Fishing Colony (monks)

Requirements:
Swan Song Quest, Difficulty: 9/10


97-99:
Jatizso (sharks)

Requirements:
Fremminick Trials, Difficulty: 7/10
Fremminick Isles, started


Alternatives:

75-99:
Barbarian Outpost Fly fishing

Requirements:
High str/cook
Concentration

bring 30 feathers
catch the fish and cut them up, use that as bait


Now that you are 99 fishing, you can get the cape in front of the fishing guild

Add Barb outpost fly fishing!! It's one of the fastest ways next to Shilo fly fishing

what about lobbys?

 

i do not prefer lobbies, look at monks. They are the same speed as lobbies, way more exp, and they sell for double
