    Do i need to get one of those even if i hook my pc up through ethernet?

    If you can already get on an ethernet, you already have a network card.

    No, if your mobo is an ethernet port than your fine (which any mobo worth a crap does) so you wont need to worry about this at all.

    Most motherboards have 10/100/1000 ethernet on them. In other words, if you're able to hook the cable into your computer, you dont need one. If you do buy one, only buy gigabit LAN.
