My favorites include Tom Scholz of Boston, Eric Clapton, Jimmy Page, Jimi Hendrix... the list pretty much goes on.

If anything he's underrated. There's so many things that he's famous for... One of the founders of blues and rock... Switching his strat around so he could play left-handed... destroying his equipment on stage... Not to mention he was seriously fucking talented.

Nothing against buckethead, but Hendrix is in a completely different realm

nothing can compare, he can play slow meaninful songs he can shred like no other when he wants to

 

Gotta be Jimmy Page first. Then i gotta say a mix of Chris Story for All Shall Perish (his riffs are awe inspiring), michael angelo batio, and kirk hammett (who can listen to master of puppets and not love him?). Those are the best guitarists in my opinion.

MAB isnt bad but he played like quad guitars n shit so his speed isnt even that epic really..

and they are just random spam of notes to show speed really lol

True, but he studied music so the notes aren't random. But they do sound weird in that instead of using keys like most musicians do now, he still uses modes like E aeolian and dorian and phrygian and all that that was used until about the 1400's. He can just shred like no other i see. Although now that i think it i forgot to put Yngwie Malmsteen in here. He is amazing too.
