A verified market

Suggestion: Sythe should start to have verification to buy/sell things on the forums.

Such verification: Address, Phone number (mostly landline), Paypal. Wasn't sure about this but if it helps, if not 18, parental approval is needed to be verified.

Reason: To cut out scamming in basically all forums. If someone is scammed Sythe or the person that stores all of the people's information give it to the person that was scammed by said person to ask for items back, or press charges, whatever is needed

Additional: You don't have to be verified to look at the market section, but only to buy/sell. Also, you are given a rank to show verification.

 

I think this is a good idea, but i was looking more along the lines, of the user to be "verified" not a section, but to make them selves verified that have to have a Sucessfull business, and it to have prooven it self sucessfull, but they do not get a rank they just get a user title, and they have to get verification from what you said about phone,address ect.

 

This is similar to RSCA market?

yea and we should be able to login with our real names and put on display names on the forums. Not many people would waste their time making fake id's etc. for this game

Yes I really do agree with this idea, I hope this will get implemented.

 

This is also a good idea. This way, a scammer can be found easily if he chooses to scam. Lets say, A wants to do a trade with B. But isn't sure if B is trustworthy.

So A finds the info and calls him and they talk about their price and such. Then they do the trade and its easy! We can also take legal action easily this way.

I've already suggested this, at length, but the staff disliked the idea for different reasons.

I do support this. I will have a system similar to this on my new website once it is released.

 

there is a website called dragonmarkee or markeedragon with a similiar idea.

You pay them like 5USD paypal to get verified and they call your landline and cehck your adress, etc.

 

Sythe's database gets hacked... Tons of addresses are leaked... Great idea. >_>.

 

I agree but then again let's say something happened to the site, and someone gets a hold of all the information.

 

If people were desperate enough, they could just use someone else's address/phone number, ever thought of that

Zamorak.org/CheatScene did this back in the day. Sythe did this too. There was a huge, immature fight over who got to use it that I'm not proud of. Sythe had their own verified market for a while but they eventually shut it down. It wasn't very popular here and the staff couldn't be assed to manage it (the donation system is hard enough, apparently.) Don't expect this to be implemented here any time soon, it's too much work and the people who would manage it wouldn't make enough money from it to compensate them for their hard work. And of course, there's always the database security issue.

 

What if they use a different address, but their phone number?
