How would I go about learning it? Would a simple C++ for dummies book do the trick?

And what all can C++ scripts be used for?

They are not scripts. They are programs. They can do anything you want. Start with a for dummies book if you want... Online resources work well too...

Everything from microwave ovens to hacks to anti-viruses to counter-strike to TV remotes to phones is made with C++. It takes about 2 hours before you'll even know what's going on if you're a complete noob, and then about 10-30 years after that to get really good at it.

I disagree about your time estimate - while it does take years to become proficient in something, I can pick up a complex language and make some fairly useful stuff in just a few months after learning the basics. It doesn't take long to become good at something and to memorize the concepts, but it does take experience to skillfully create something, if you know what I mean.

Very true. I can pick up a new language and make some shitty thing in it the same day... Like VB.net... I made some shit in it the first day I started, but nothing complicated... If you can do something in one language, its pretty easy to figure out how to do it in another... Once you have the mind of a programmer, its easy to speak more than one language...

Yeah, you gotta like pc first. And must be really interested in programming.
You have to stare at the computer for hours, love it, make it your wife and screw it.

Learning the basics isn't hard. But being good at it takes years sometimes forever.
Just learn how the functions work. Learn how to know what error it's giving you when you compiled it. That's the basic.

Out of topic: I have another project of C prog *sighs*
