Display adapters problem

These are the adapters that came with the computer.

Recently, I had to remove a graphics card and replace a power supply because the card(Evga 8600 GTS) was using too much power and damaged the power supply.

Now, I've replaced the power supply and I have no more problems, except for this one.



I can't play any games, except runescape, but I can't play that anymore due to a ban.

I want to start Warcraft in it's place but whenever I try to open Warcraft I get the message "Failed to find suitable device"

Help :/

 

Are you still using the 8600 GTS in the computer? If so, your computer is incorrectly recognizing the card, or you have it set in the BIOS to use onboard graphics.

If you have the card inserted, when you start your computer, press f2 as soon as it comes on. It should take you into teh bios. it uses a GUI and if you can't figure it out you shouldn't be rewarded by playing games. Look for a 'use onboard graphics' option. turn if off.

If it is set to off, you have the driver wrong. Download a driver for the 8600 gts from the evga websitea nd run the installer. If that doesn't fix it, try to manually update the driver in device manager.

If your card is NOT in, you are using onboard graphics, which ahve no where near hte power of your 8600 card, and dont have enough power to play anything other than RS.

If you bought the same powersupply and just thought you could take the card out, see if you can still return the powersupply and get a higher wattage one and run with the 8600.

I think the 8600 only needs a min of 350 watts though, so you must have really had a small PS to get it burnt out by the card.

 

Re-install drivers, make sure the card is in, and check your BIOS.

I don't think this could happen, but there could be a possibility that the bad PSU ruined your graphics card.

 

I vaguely remember turning onboard graphics off..... I'll try this.

 

Is the new power supply you purchased more powerful? I'm guessing it might very well be and if that's the case you can probably put the 8600 back in your PC. Let me know how many watts the old and new one are.

 

Re install the drivers or try rolling them back
