    RuneScape Classic is the original version of RuneScape, and is still available to those few players who still have RuneScape Classic accounts.

    Our focus since the days of RuneScape Classic has been on the main RuneScape game, which is far more advanced. The main reason we are keeping RuneScape Classic online is to support some of our loyal players who have been with us for years and want to play the old version of the game they are used to. As such, only accounts which played RuneScape Classic at least once in the six months from August 3rd 2005 to February 3rd 2006 are able to play RuneScape Classic.

    The current version of RuneScape - which the majority of our players use - remains open to all of our members and free players. (SOURCE JAGEX)
