    Emancipation in North Carolina

I want to get emancipated in North Carolina at 16. I don't know how to go about it nor how much it costs.

    I have some questions:
I have been on probation twice, and currently am, will that effect it?:
Can i just get a place to live anywhere?
(I'll think of more and post later)
My girlfriend is moving in with me because her parents are evil, i would just like to know how to go about it.

Go to your state/community office and ask there. I am sure that you will be getting 100% right answers, instead of on a forum.

If you have money to live anywhere, then yes.
But I highly doubt anyone will rent out to you seeing as your only 16 years old.
I suggest sticking with it until your 18.

I don't see why, if he has income.

I do believe it's quite hard-impossible to emancipate at that early. I'd suggest waiting for 17-18 at least.

And for how, you might just want to find a place that would give legal advice, say a law firm. Probation might affect your chances but it will depend on the offenses.

Heres what generally happens, when you go about renting an apartment they can run a backround check, probation WILL effect it cause I mean who wants a bad guy in there apartment and seeing as your a first time renter it makes it even worse, and you being 16 just downs it even more because of the fact you might lose a job. But a tip is showing him that you have more then one job option avaliable and make a downpayment for 4 months or so to cover 4 months cost before you even start. It will gain trust and the knowledge that you have money to put into the apartment. Somthing I do not suggest is bringing a girlfriend. The scenario regardless of what you might say now that you'll stay together forever. 1. She might not be able to pay for herself. 2) You 2 might brake up and your back were you where except worse off now. You must also remember for an emancipation to work one must have a transportation and an income which will be able to pay for yourself now others regardless of who might be moving in with you, the income must be able to sustain you and only you. It takes a little more then people think to get emancipated even if your parents allow it (they have to sign off on it giving permission)

i live in raleigh and i know multiple people who have moved out when they are 16. im not sure how you go about it, but you would have to move into a college appartment complex most likley. i highly doubt any place else would allow a 16 year old to live alone, if the appartments weren't built with school kids in mind.
