Hey guys. I'm 14 and I WANT A TATTOO!!! I have had many questions about them such as the following:

    -Do they hurt
    -Do I need a parent's consent
-How much do they run usually

I've been wanting one and my mom doesn't care, but I'd have to talk my dad into it first.

If anybody here has a tattoo, and would like to give me some first tattoo info, please do. Thanks :D .

You need to have parental consent until you're 18. However, there are some places that do it for you regardless of age, but those are the shitty ones where you'll probably end up with AIDS.
They do hurt, but not enough to bawl your eyes out. The point of a permanent tattoo is for it to be permanent. Therefore they use their needle-brush to dig past the epidermis into the more inner parts of the skin. Thus making it permanent.
The price is determined by the location, colors, size, and how elaborate it is. It probably won't cost you that much to get a small tattoo to start.
    Good Luck.

As said above you DO need parental consent unless your friend/blackmarket like tatoo shop does it. It kind of hurts not to much, I have a small one didn't cost much.

My brother was going to get 4 nautical stars, to represent his best friends in life, and it would cost 400 bucks >_< .

Hopefully I can find one 50-100 bucks somewhere  .

You'll most likely regret it later on but you need parental consent, but I have a friend who has a tattoo and he's 17 because he knows people.

My friend tattoo'ed himself when he was like 15 or 16.

He just bought a tattoo gun and did it to himself. If you are good at drawing then you could just do that as well.

Dont get some ridiculously big one to begin. You dont know what the pain is like and could run off half way through the tatoo.

You need parental consent, yes, and yes, it does hurt pretty bad. I suggest eating before getting it done too, my mom didn't eat before, and she passed out.

Get someone you know to recommend a place, and get the artist's name who did theirs. It doesn't matter what the shop's book looks like; you should really see a finished one on skin if you can. (And even if they have photos, they're not going to show you the crappy ones.)

Also, think hard before you get the design, and don't choose something that just looks cool. You should get something that has some significant meaning to you. Tattoos for the sake of tattoos are lame.

I would say a unicorn is very manly and you should put flowers around the unicorn and a rainbow in the background. Post the pic when you get this tattoo please.

It hurts getting a tattoo, just like it hurt when I had to beat up a 14 year old when I was in Latin Kings.

    Definately took that for granted.

    No.

I was maybe thinking on one wrist 1958 and on the other 2009 to represent Michael Jackson and the way he influenced the world.

If you are going to get a tattoo, get it on your forehead, and get one that says "Dumbass."

If you are going to get a tattoo, get a SIMPLE tattoo. Like barbed wire around your arm or something, but if you want a show-off tattoo, just get the one on your forehead.
Tattoo's aren't for fun or for being "cool." Especially if you get your WHOLE arm done in tattoos.
When I see people with tattoos all over the place, it's just disgusting. Little tattoos that make sense or something that isn't showy but shows your personality is fine, but a lot? It's too much.
    And yes, they DO hurt.
And since you're 14, you DO need parents consent and supervision while getting it done.

You classify a barbed wire tattoo around your arm as a "simple tattoo"? One of the most sensitive places to get a tattoo is on the side of your arm facing the your body.

i was a tattoo artist for about six months, just to help my friends dad out while he was locked away. im not sure what state your in, but in NC its now a law that you have to be 18 in order to get a tattoo. regardless whether or not your parents sign for you, 18 is the age limit. they do hurt, but its not an unbarrible pain. it all depends where you get it. people say that bones make tattoos hurt, but its actually nerves. you can pinch yourself and tell which areas will hurt more than the others. the minimum price at our shop was 40$. depending on the size, we've had a few 3000$ full back pieces coming out of there. price really ranges from what colors you want, to what size you want, to where on your body you want it.

I got a tattoo when I was 17. My parents had to sign a form basically. Also, when you pick one out, remember that its probably on you forever. Yes, it hurts like hell.
