I'm a WoW Noob...

Ok..So I want to play WoW, but TBH I dont want to go spend $100+ at the store to get gametime, expansions, etc. I know that If I buy an account with the expansions on it, I just have to download something..not sure what though. I want someone who knows WoW like the backside of they're hand and doesnt mind answering some Q's I've got..

Than If I get it all figured out, I'll need to buy either an account or a Toon..I'm not sure wtf the difference is, but I know there is one.

Im completly lost so if you can answer some questions, that would be GREAT. Thanks.

The difference between an account and a toon: A "toon" is a character on your account, you can have several characters on one account.

 

But how do people sell them if it's on they're account..dont they have to sell the account?

 

Yes, they sell the whole account or in rare cases attempt to transfer a character which hardly ever works.

 

Account: You pay for this. This is your login name

Toon/Characters: You can have as many characters on your Account as you want.. on any realm you want.

Realm: Basically WORLD like runescape, but you can't play your character on a different "world" (realm). (Unless you pay for a permanent transfer).
Price of wow: $20

Price of WoW Battle Chest Set: $40 (I suggest to get this because it has the first expansion Burning Crusade).

Price of membership: $15 a month via CC, or $30 for a 60-day Gamecard. (But i sell them for like $15-$20, depending on how much i sell for ATM.

Type of Realms:
Pvp- It's PVP ANYWHERE. Horde vs Alliance anywhere at anytime. If you make a horde character first, you can only be horde on that realm, same with alliance. This may make leveling hard, as you can be killed at anytime.
Normal - You can make Alliance or horde on this type of realm, and it's not PVP everywhere. Only in certain areas is it pvp.
RPPVP - Role Playing PVP. Same as pvp, but people "role play" which is making up their own fictional games or fake story lines.

Now I got the characters and everything..
So, I played the trial, and if I want to play forever or until I get bored or whatever, do I need to buy the World Of Warcraft thing, like the very first one?

And what do you guys recomend for new people? I mean, how fast can you actually play through each game/exspansion? Do I need to get them all at once, or will that confuse the hell out of me?

 

How big is the WoW game and each exspansion? like how manys GB Do I need to download and play it without hella bad lag??

It doesn't take up ALOT but not a small amount.. i'm not positive but keep like 10G free. And the trial version only lets you get to level 10, and you can't trade anyone... So buy the real thing and join Shadowmoon realm so you can play with sythe people. :] Make sure you're alliance.

Ok. Since I have no clue WTf im doing, im going to buy the battle chest and start fresh. No where in my town sells the battle chest (yes its a tiny ass town) So I was going to buy it off the internet, but blizzard ships it to you...So Do I need to buy the game and BC exspansion sperate, or what...

And I was also wondering if the battle chest or game/exspansions came with gametime, or if you had to buy gametime seperate.

Okay, so the current WoW battle chest includes World of Warcraft and The Burning Crusade. If I remember right, you should get a month free with the original World of Warcraft when you get your account activated. If you wish to go up further, then just go ahead and buy Wrath of the Lich King. But I think that only the original game comes with a month free upon activation.

 

if you buy an account with all 3 expansions already activated on it, you can download them using the downloaders found under the account management part of the site
however you will still have to pay for gametime

Well considering that the time and effort put into getting your first toon to 80 will outweigh what is an "easier" class to level as a noob, I suggest you pick a class that looks interesting you, not what appears to be easiest. Pick something you will enjoy playing with later.

 

Once you play, play on the Shadowmoon PVP, and pick alliance. The majority of sythe players play here and we can get you started. Pick whatever you want though, don't go by what people say.

 

Just remember one thing: to talk, you have to hit "enter" first.

Im going to buy the battle chest so I can be a blood elf hunter or knight/paladian IDK WTF Im talking about, when I buy it I'll pick open that sounds cool lol... I'll have it either tomorrow or thursday at the latest. No one wants to restart and show me the 'ropes' though huh? lol. Np. Im a BA anyways. I'll figure it out
