Is World of Warcraft worth it?

    Hello,
Just wondering my birthday's coming up.
    is WoW worth buying?
    I play Crossfire
    And Counter strike
But is WoW worth the $30-50 buy?
    Thanks!

    Happy birthday in advance.

Depends on what you're looking for in a game, really.

    Ah, cool...

In my opinion, it is. You get to interract with many people, and there's SO MUCH you can do with in the game. With questing, raiding, merchanting, chatting, and much more, WoW is pretty much an all-in-one package. You can do a lot in the game, and once you get your first 80, the world opens up even more.

You should buy it. :] Have a fun birthday!

Compared to Runescape, It's not as fun. I love it now.... and didn't love it until i forced myself to around lvl 30. It's REALLY fun if you have alot of friends who'd join with you too.

Tbh, the game doesn't REALLY start until you're 80, which can take maybe 3 months or so for new players. If you get skills though like Skinning, mining, engineering, the game is 10x more fun.

Really in terms of fun, the game is always a lot better in numbers (with your friends) and it might seem boring or lame up until level 30, which only takes like a week to level to. I would strongly recommend this game to anybody,

Keep it mind that it is also $15 a month, it isn't just a one time buy.

If you can afford it, yes. It is worth the buy. :)

As a Pre-BC player (Before the Burning Crusade) I love it. There are three different parts to the game. World of Warcraft is the actual game, but the two expansions World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade and Wrath of the Lich King, are almost necessary now. So you're going to spending more than a few bucks.

Its SOOO MUCH fun though! Its a constant quest to find friends, items, and do dungeons. Plus if you like Ventrilo or Teamspeak its a lot of fun strategizing and raiding. The game never ends (literally).

PROTIP: Get a 10 day trial account right now, then buy the game for $20. That'll give you 40 days of play time. You get a free month when you buy the game. Join Shadowmoon if you're gonna want to play with pricks like people who go to this site, or Smolderthorn if you're a cool little kid.

What was it in WoW that made it better than the games that you quit?

We're talking about WoW. No one gives a shi- about "runes of magic".

    RuneScape isn't as fun, right?

That really all depends, and there are also many great people that play the game as well, as I've noticed. ;D

Professions do not make the game THAT much funner, necessarily, as it's basicaly a job. There are all kinds of things that may be able to enhance the game for you, but that all depends on your interests.

It would only take "like a week to level to" if you played the appropriate amount of time. If you are only able to be on 1-2 hours a day, it's pretty much out of the question to level that fast.

The game seems to be better always with friends, and I would also recommend WoW to anyone that would be looking for an MMORPG, as it is one of the greats.

You can purchase WoW by gamecards in local retail stores, or also purchase it online through their website at a discounted price for the more months you wish to pay for.

And yes, the game is definately worth the buy.

    100% agreed

Vent really doesn't make the game exciting at all. It's just a place to hang and talk to Guildies or some friends, or perhaps during Raids that you might encounter on a Saturday night.

Quit confusing him guys. One says professions makes the game 10x more fun, and someone else says Ventrilo. xD

It's quite known, but they could also RaF with someone else and get free months, as well as the Shift Zhevra Mount.

Wait... people on Shadowmoon are not pricks. How dare you!

"Cool little kid" sounds pedo~ish, tbh. =\
