Should homosexuals have the right to get married?

Yes, people should have the right to be with whoever they want to be. Plus, today's society already has gay couples dating and there is no law against them dating, so why cant they get married?

I don't see why the government should stand between two people who want to be together. I also don't see why the government should stand between one man and three women who want to be together.

Yeah they should be allowed to get married. If they really and truly love each other, they should be allowed.

It doesn't matter that they can't have children. They can adopt.

 

It's more then just having a pretty ring, marriage has a variety of "perks". If a homosexual man wanted to leave his partner all he owned, he would have to go out of his way to do so while dealing with taxes (in the current non-marriage system). Marriage laws state that if one partner dies and has no will the other partner gets all of the deceased person's possessions.

Its about 5-7 percent of the population is homosexual. And also being homosexual is genetic and not a choice, the only choice a homosexual has it whether or not he will admit it and come out of the closet.

If homosexuals want to get married I say lets them. It shouldn't matter to anyone even if you are a devote Catholic, they aren't harming anyone by getting married.

I think that is what being free is about. Being able to follow your own beliefs and respecting others. It's like saying Asians can get married but blacks can't basicly. They have a different life style but they're people too. I think they should be able to.

 

I'm with Zzack, just because their values, attitudes and beliefs differ from the norm, doesn't mean they shouldn't have the right to do what the norm is allowed.

Also, I'm not saying that it is or isn't genetic but I don't believe you should flame one another because of your beliefs. It is simply the Nature vs. Nurture debate, sure, pick a side, no need to become aggrovated at people who don't see eye to eye with you.
