increasing speed with IE

Ok for this guide i'm going to teach you how to increase your browsing speed with internet explorer.

The first thing your going to do is go to start, and for XP users your going to have to use the "Run" command, but for vista click start and use the bottom search key. What your going to type in either your "Run Command" or your search key in vista is "Regedit" as shown below ;



You don't have to hit enter on vista because it will automatically find the program for you. The program that will pop up in your search is called "Regedit" once you see it, click it.

Once you click it you should see a screen that looks like this ;



Once you get to this screen you are going to double click "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE" and then "Software" as shown below.



Once you click on "Software" you are going to scroll down until you find "Microsoft", once you find it double click it and scroll down until you find "Windows." Once you find "Windows" you are going to double click it till a list of other files open, then click "Current Version" as shown below ;



Once you click "Current Version" you are going to click "Internet Settings" once you do, you will get a list of all your internet settings for internet explorer as shown below ;



Ok now, in all your settings you have to find the setting "MaxConnectionsPerServer", however. If your settings are like mine, you won't have it anywhere therefore you must make the setting your self. So what your going to do is go to "Edit > New > DWORD (32-bit) Value" as shown below ;



Now once you have clicked that a new setting will appear on the setting screen, and in the edit box you are going to type "MaxConnectionsPerServer" as shown below ;



Now once you do that the setting will be added into the list. Once you added it you are doing to double click it, and a box will open that you must change the Base to "Decimal" and the value data to "50" as show below ;



Once you have done that hit ok, and exit the program. You are all done. Make sure you restart Internet explorer if it was open at all during this process, and enjoy your faster browsing.

Yea, I don't even know anyone that uses internet explorer besides like my uncle who doesn't know anything about computers haha. Good guide and keep up the good work.

 

Yea, well Tbh most people use Internet Explorer because it comes with the computer and they are not aware of any other programs out there such as Firefox. Internet Explorer has a higher user rate then Firefox. However, Firefox's user rate is more "earned" as Internet Explorer. And you don't know anyone who uses Internet Explorer because they are more advanced then your Uncle. Same with my mother and my father. They use Internet Explorer when I even have Firefox downloaded for them, just because it came with the computer.
