Ip blocked from logging in?

I can't log in. It tells me too many incorrect logins, and to wait a few minutes, and I've waited about 4 hours, and I can't log in to ANY of my accounts, member or non-member.

What's wrong? Am I IP banned? I don't bot, Most of my accounts don't even have a black mark. What's going on, why can't I log in? I've even tried changing my IP address or whatever. Not that I exactly know how, but I reconnected my modem or whatever. Bleh...

If it says incorrect log in's then your typing in something wrong. If you were Ip Banned from Runescape then you wouldn't be bale to access the homepage. Plus getting Ip Banned rarely happens.

 

No, like I said I've tried on all of my accounts, and my passwords are the same passwords I've used my whole life. It's not some random jibberish that is easily mistyped, like sjahargheraiuh.

And it's been hours and I get the same message, They won't give me a new chance to log in?

Did you have to create a new sythe account to ask this qustion?

 

No, I have never had a sythe account, but I had an error trying to log into myspace. But that didn't last.

the problem has come back, I can't log in... yet again.

 

I should note that I did have one incorrect log in today, A mistyped password, but not 5 different times.

And when this happens.. it lasts for hours.

This is what an IP ban looks like:

 

If you wait out the time interval and try to enter the account information and it's invalid, you'll get the message again. You aren't allowed that many attempts after 5 minutes, you'd probably only get 1.

Did you try logging in during the 4 hours?

I know, I've seen an Ip ban like that before, but I can't figure out why this keeps happening to me. Poke, yes, I did, and that's plausible. But I successfully logged in, then logged out to switch worlds and got the same message. VERY CAREFULLY typing my password. This makes no sense. I sent a bug report to Jagex but I doubt that will help. Any other ideas, anyone?

 

Are you possibly on a network with anyone else playing RuneScape?

 

World, I've thought of this, but the problem has come back yet again. Yes I'm on a wireless network, but why would anyone here attempt to log into an account over and over for multiple days?

And no one here plays runescape enough to try to load a bot to hack someone, either. That doesn't make sense. This is getting very annoying...

You can't get ip banned, just clear your cache, and shit.

 

I have no idea what that means, or how to do it.

But if you tell me I'm sure I can figure it out. I'm not impaired

 

Contact jagex on rs forums.

 

If you have vista go into Disc C, there should be a folder called .jagex_cache_32
On xp i think the folder has the same name but on xp you browse into C: and then the system folder is where it's kept at.

Talent, once, this happened to me with a runescape password cracker. Still, the thing didn't work, and it was a virus, but what it did was it brute-forced it, and runescape has that incorrect login thing, so after 5 tries that weren't correct, it would stop letting the cracker test the passwords. I'm not sure if this helps, but just a heads up.
