So I just made a Shaman...

And I wanted to make the Shaman strictly PVP when it hits 80, however I don't know if that is the wisest move. How are Shamans doing in PVP these days? I know that they used to be amazing in PVP, but all I've seen in the Shaman WoW forums are QQ threads on how much PVP is horrible to Shamans.

How does Sythe feel about Shaman Pvp?

    Rules:

    1) All classes will QQ about how their class is underpowered in PvP.
    2) Shamans were the ret pallies of late vanilla / BC.
    3) Shamans don't appear lots in Arena brackets if that matters.

Is that a "reroll now" or a "stick with it"?

I wonder if number 3 listed above is for a reason =\ Now that I think about it, when I was pvping on my priest I don't remember ever fighting a shaman in Arena...

Shamans aren't the top of the food chain to make it simple.

Shamans are pretty balanced with other classes.

i heard they're great in a 3vs3 bracket with a dk and a pally, they grew stronger in pvp when blizzard took away the macro for hunters pets to auto kill totems + lava burst, i mean, crit 9ks if you have right gear.

Uhh..... what? you must be talking about Enh/Ele only, because resto shamans are completely top of the bar as it currently stands, and they're only getting buffed with the ability to macro kill totems being taken away in 3.2, so yeah.. I think you've gotten some bad information.

Well I havn't really seen any shamans on the tournament server but RMP is stomping pretty much any other build.

If your planning on doing 5v5 they are in pretty much every single top group but in 2's and 3's they are fairly non existant.

I think you would be better off going for a druid/priest if you want to be healer or rogue/dk/warrior/mage(3's or 5's) for dps.

Shamans are really only good as Resto for PVP. If you're looking to go ele/enh, go for PVE and pray you can find a guild willing to use a shaman DPS without making you spec to healz.

They have every reason to. They have to sit down those totems for their bonuses, and just sit there and wait to have any advantage at all, which really isn't much. I saw a level 80 Shaman (Horde) in Blade's Edge Mountains the other day, and I killed them in about 2-3 seconds on my Rogue. They aren't very powerful at close range, and you can LoS the hell out of them.

Shamans on Arena Teams fail, imo. All they do is burst Heroism for their partner, and then die. Every time I see a Shaman on the opposing Team in an Arena match, my partner and I go for them immediately, and absolutely demolish them. I am a Rogue, however, so my poisons cut their healing received by 50% as well.

For me, Shamans and PvP are two things that don't belong together, but that's just my 2 cents.
