    Undercover mods?

This may have been suggested before, not sure though.

I know from experience that a lot of scammers will play it cool, and act legit when they know they're talking to a mod, which can make it troublesome to find them before they get the chance to scam.

So I was thinking that maybe the mods around here could make new Sythe accounts, and act like regular Sythe users. Since noone but Sythe admins can check IPs, noone would be able to tell who they really were, and it'd make finding scammers easier.

Just a suggestion, could maybe be a bit more fleshed out.

    Undercover mods?

This wouldn't work out and would cause more fuss than intended.

    Undercover mods?

How do you know there aren't already undercover mods? If we told you they already here then it would be pointless. Oh look... one is viewing the thread right now.

    I'm undercover.. Or am i..
    You'll never know!..

But seriously this thread is pointless. If there were 'undercovers' i don't think they would announce it.

    Undercover mods?

This sounds like a really good idea. But the way that Darthatron said it made me think there're already undercover mods. Oh well. ;)

But what happens if those undercover mods turn rogue? o_O

    Undercover mods?

"Undercover" mods wouldn't work. They would need the permissions to infract certain users and such. And as soon as the first person gets infracted they would know about the "undercover" mod and it would be pointless. It's more trouble than it is help imo.

    Undercover mods?

    DON'T FEED THE TROLLS.

Also, there won't be any undercover mods. Causes problems, and chances for people to say "Hurrrrr I'm an undercover mod, go first" and such..

Also, say this suggestion was accepted. Scammers would then know that undercover mods was in effect..

    Undercover mods?

Wouldnt that make it even easier to catch one then because if there a undercover mod obviously there not going to say they are one -_- that would make it pointless.

    Undercover mods?

YOu could have undercopver mods. just make them a user group that has modcp perrmissions but dont change their Usergroup or anything of the nature. Vbulletin allows you to not have a certain user in the Forum Leaders table at the bottom. I think that it would be an ok idea, even though it is devious and underhanded and propably wouldnt change the fact that people scam lol.

I thihk that they should stick with the old method it proves to be at least semi-effective.
