    The War on "Terror"

Do you think that the US is doing a good job in the Middle East and destroying terrorism and restoring order? Or do you think they are completely fucking up? These statistics speak for themselves:

Terrorism by Jihadist groups - Has gone up 607% globally since Iraq was invaded, and 80% of attacks are in Iraq and Afghanistan.
    http://www.motherjones.com/politics/2007/03/iraq-effect-war-iraq-and-its-impact-war-terrorism-pg-2

Money spent of the war: about $800 billion, including $76 billion requested by President Obama and approved by the House.

Monthly spending in Iraq: $12 billion

    U.S. Troops In Iraq - 134,000

Cost of deploying one U.S. soldier for one year in Iraq - $390,000

    U.S. Troop Death Toll - 4,344

9/11 Death Toll (for comparison purposes) - 2,752
    http://www.cnn.com/2003/US/Northeast/10/29/wtc.deaths/

US Troops Wounded - 31,327 (20% are serious brain and spinal injuries)

US Troops with Serious Mental Health Problems - 30% of US troops develop serious mental health problems within 3 to 4 months of returning home

Iraqis Displaced Inside Iraq, by Iraq War, as of May 2007 - 2,255,000

Iraqi Refugees in Syria & Jordan - 2.1 million to 2.25 million

    Iraqi Unemployment Rate - 27 to 60%

Percent of professionals who have left Iraq since 2003 - 40%

Iraqis "strongly opposed to presence of coalition troops - 82%

Iraqis who believe Coalition forces are responsible for any improvement in security - less than 1%

    Iraq civilian death toll: 104,000 - 223,000
    http://www.nytimes.com/2008/01/10/world/middleeast/10casualties.html

Some surveys say that over 600,000 have died, while others say around 100,000, but either way, we know that a SHIT TON of innocent civilians are dead.

I truly do not see a reason for the US to stay in the Middle East. Their efforts have been ineffective in completely stopping the "War on Terror."
I will, however, give them some credit for the work done in Iraq, but I still do not see a reason for them to continue with their effort in diminishing Terrorism in the Middle East.

I don't think many people support it anymore. Around 2001 there was strong public support in most of Europe and the US, but I think that misinformation and panic was the reason for that.

You'd be surprised. Support has decreased a little bit, but many Americans are still brainwashed by the media.

48% Still want to keep troops in Iraq until situation improves.
