Well if ur a member then theres pretty much nothing bc there are WAY better pures and options of equipment thats better than rune such as dragon. but on f2p the main reason people have low def is so that they can have another stat really high (str or range for example) whilst maintaining a low combat lvl.

correct me if im wrong, but I believe people only had 1 def pures for staking at duel arena. fighting with no armour set gives you an advantage.

1 def mages worked really well as you could have 99 magic at like 60 something combat. tho now that duel arena has been raped, theres no piont.

You hit much harder and stronger than people at the same combat level but with defense. The trade off is that you also get hit more consistently as well.

    Think stim packs.

I like to have them to show off. A 1 def account with 99s is impressive to me. They are also good for quick ko's. Not so well for long fights though, you just have to make sure to hit em hard, fast.

What is the benefit of a 1 def Pure?

The point is to hit as high as you can aiming for a KO at the lowest CB level.
1 def allows you to stay at a low CB.

    Offense > Defense.

Own them too fast that you wont need any defense.

What is the benefit of a 1 def Pure?

Pures were designed to hit high at low levels. They also have combinations of high stats to use in conjunction with other weapons/items. (I.e., G maul Blitzer/ DDS Blitzer)

another benefit is that you actually have to think slightly more as to what your wearing to balance out your stats to your equipment properly t give the best overall bonuses to rape in all combat styles

What is the benefit of a 1 def Pure?

    Many reasons.

    PROS

When you die you lose way less money. If you die with 1 def and iron you lose 798 GP. If you die with 70 defence and barrow you lose 2M+

You can hit higher at a lower level

You can have 50 attack 70 strength and 1 defence
or you could have 40 attack 50 strength 40 defence (Roughly)
so at 1 defence you use better weapons, hit more often, and hit higher

    CONS

    You get hit ALOT
Some common RS tasks become harder
    Limits quests you can complete

What is the benefit of a 1 def Pure?

Now look at it like this

hitting 30s at like 60 combat with melee

having like str in the 90s while only like 70 some combat.
