Pre-TBC----Better than all?

I just want to see how many people really felt Pre-TBC was just so fun and loved it. I truly believe that Pre-TBC is better than all the expansions and if they would of kept it, it would of been better than it is now.

Give me your thoughts.

 

Most people that never played pre bc say it's better, But it's really not. It was horrible, if you where a druid you where resto, if you where a pally you basically sat in the back of the raid and buffed / rezzed, warriors where the only tanks, and the honor grind for pvp was horrible.

 

I played Pre BC. Yeah it was fun, but was REALLY boring after you hit 60.

 

Well I played 1 Month before BC Became Out.But never hit 60 in that time.Nor did I hit 70 Before WoTLK Came out Because I wasn't a big WoW Gamer Like I am now.I really wish I could go back,Reach 60 And Play Pre-BC.

 

the leveling was so sloooow

 

I played Pre TBC for about a 2/3 year and got lvl 55 and then BC came out lol.

 

Actually, the only thing I liked about pre-tbc, was Epics, well, they were EPIC(!!!!), and also very hard to get a hold of.

I must admit, I'm also missing the ranks. (I got Knight-Liuetenant (title) myself). And the way you had to aquire gear.

And hitting 40 was like an achivement itself, just to get a mount(!) and getting the mount was actually rather "hard".


But, then again, nothing stays forever, and I think they needed to vary the game a bit more, which they did..

 

Pre-TBC raids required more skill than WOTLK raids....

 

Hahah, i remember when i hit 40 and i could afford a mount right after that and i went to strangletholm(idk spelling) vale and there was this lvl 41 like "OMG u could afford a mount im still missing gold.." and i was all cool -_-

 

Actually, that's bullshit.

The only reason things are as easy as they are now ; well it's because of websites like "WoWhead", "WoWwiki" and a few others.

Also, as a players, we're getting used to their "strategies" so we're basically prepared for it all. It's not like it's easy for Blizzard to invent NEW ways of killing something all the freaking time.

It NEVER requiered more skills, it requiered the correct tactics. Which is so easy to get these days!

 

Yeah lots of mixed opinions. Yeah I personally got to 60 and did get to experience most of it. I really enjoyed it, it just felt more of a solid game. Raiding, epics, leveling. Now all it really is leveling to 80, gear, raiding. It wasn't just like that back then. The whole process meant much more leveling to 60 then it does 70-80. My opinion.

 

I played briefly pre-BC, but I did not reach 60. I will, however, state that BC raiding was a hell of a lot more fun than anything Wrath has thrown at us.

 

I'd have to say, you're most likely are border line mentally challenged to truly belive Pre-bc was the best. Reasons for my assumption

~Most barley skimmed the surface of MC before 2.01
~PVP didn't take skill, if you had full HWL/GM you got face fucked. (Or better gear over all).
~Alterac Valley...?... Really, 5 hour BGs getting less honor then AB/WSG in the same time. The que's were ridiculous.

I mean, this is just a taste of what it use to be like. When you're reminicing upon your memories you forget about the downsides of things. In this case, many down sides.

TBC was by far the BEST expansion. Raids weren't to the extreme (Except Sunwell...). PVP was great, perfect HP resilience, introduction of arenas!

 

I feel like Wrath has potential, contrary to what I implied before.

 

Agreed, lower numbers generally meant a more simple game.

 

People are very nostalgic about pre-bc. It was the most fun if you played the right class, very boring if you weren't. PvP gear took dedication and something to work to.

Plus back then the game wasn't retarded due to blizzard trying to make things more 'hi-tech'. Siege engine based BG ruined everything about BGs.

edit: I like arena more than I do BGs.

Wait, are you trying to say PvP takes skills now?! It takes gear, gear, and more gear!

The queue has nothing to do with the actual fun AV was back then.

Maybe some were more dedicated then others. Some actually worked to get somewhere, while others were just lazy (most likely you) and therfore happy to see the epansion.

 

As an endgamer that got the full Tier 1 set before TBC, I'd have to say that it was fun and all, but if we were still there the game would be very boring, and I after about a week of playing the new expansion (I thought I'd give the game a go again), all my preTBC armor/weapons have been replaced (excluding Darkmantle Gloves and my crossbow), the instances are far more intresting, and same applies with the questing, also leveling is much faster.

 

I only have TBC which i bought in the battlechest set all at once, so i don't know Pre BC times. I do love draenei though.

 

Draenei weren't in Pre-BC.
