As said many times, prolly IRC(easiest, /whois elvemage in his clan channel.), but there is MANY ways, MSN, emails, forum accounts, it's not hard at all.

Eh. They do this in Counter-Strike Source and what not. They send packets to the server, lags the server constantly then crashes. People can get sued for it. Other than that, grats to the guy who killed him.

I obtained his IP address with a php script on a free host site, disguised as a picture link extremely similar to an imageshack picture, it was only different by 2 letters

 

All that work for something so easily done.

As well as yes, he did pm me once he reconnected, he said he quits RuneScape, as well as he lost full void (including mage and range helm) as well as max tank/mage.

If you did what you said you did to get his IP, you had to write a PHP script, set up a host, fake an imageshack, and social engineer him to click the link.


It can be done way faster and easier, unless you mean you leeched the site or something :/.
