Sythe: The Decline Of RS Blackmarketing

Ive been here for 2 1/2 years or something around there. This place has just went down hill since I've joined. Seems like things have become less about the members and more about the money, that my opinion atleast. This whole BS with the Gold4Rs scammers, i mean ive never used them and from what I've seen browsing the help section it seems like more people are getting scammed then getting gold. This is just my opinion, lets see what some other older members think..... (Non-mods, because Mods are going to be biased of course.)

 

I'v been here just about as long as you have. But blackmarket had to go down when jagex took out unbalanced trades. Now you have to give out your password to get gold and that's just risky.

 

No im talking in general, community wise and all.....

 

meh...i dont think its as extreme as your claiming it to be.
obviously with the coming of various runescape updates that limited rwt comes new things to try to keep that kind of stuff stabilized. sythe clearly grew a alot since 2 years ago and the servers needed upgrading etc. so hence the gold4rs deal and the ads ...

There was a high point i remeber when sythe was really doing well. But wasn't sythe down for like 3 months recently?

 

No, its been a year or so since sythe has even crashed.... I think, but yeah. I mean they can find some better company, go and look at the Gold4Rs support and tell me how many scam/ban/ and other mishappenings you see. It just seems to me that everything has slid down hill slowly.

 

That's odd, maybe it was just the time of day i tried to get on it was down. Gold4rs is extremely unreliable. I think there is some legit sellers that are independent on sythe tho.

 

Hell yes there are, I know a few and have dealt with a few myself. (not buying gold) but Id rather buy from some leecher on sythe then give Gold4Rs any money. I mean it seems like there is such a horrible air about the forums now, it may just be me.

 

Well, yeah RS blackmarketing has gone downhill, I've been around this community for a very long time now, and I remember what the blackmarket was like when it was $20 for a million RS gold.

The reasons blackmarket trading has gone so far downhill from where it once was is primarily because of the changes RS made to the game in attempts to eliminate real-world trading.

 

I agree, it has gone downhill alot. I don't feel like paying money for a guide that'll help me sell gold for a week before it's patch; uh-uh.

 

Yes, Sythe is going down hill and has been for a long time.
It seems everyone's goal is to become a moderator, and in some cases scam. Most of the decent have quit/been banned for STUPID reasons/demodded and now anyone who kisses ass becomes a moderator. Ah well, if you make a market-based forum, especially a RuneScape one, it's bound to go downhill at some point. More scammers than legit sellers/buyers. And with an average age of about 12 what can you expect?

 

In MOST cases scam, kids are trying to come here and scam to make a quick buck, but that is not what the site is about.

 

If you don't like Gold4RS then just don't use them, Sythe himself has been investigating the reports of them scamming and he may decide to terminate the agreement if he feels that it is necessary

 

That's why most people on here that I know only stick around Sythe for the community because they know everytime they do a trade they are probably going to get scammed

 

All I can say is that back in 2005 I had no problem finding legit traders who wouldn't scam. Recently literally every trade I've done has been a scam. Last night I was scammed by a guy with over 600 posts who had multiple vouches.. I can't trust anybody anymore.

 

I agree and disagree with this. My goal is not to become a moderator, I just come here for the community and I know when something looks like a scam and I report it. I like to help out the mods and keep this place clean. If I happen to become a moderator sometime then so be it, but if I don't then I don't really care at all.
I do agree with kissing ass and becoming a moderator though, everyone knows that the only reason Unb4nned became a mod is because he is friends with Finn, I like Unb4nned but he should have never become a moderator.
And yes, I agree with the more scammers than legit people, thats why if you are a truthful person like myself, you help the moderators out by reporting them so you can get rid of one more scammer on the board.

 

That has nothing to do with it, he's talking about how after RWT'ing was banned that the economy slipped because there is minimal ways to trade.

And i totally agree with the sucking u to become a mod thing, that has also bothered me. Im not here to become a mod, but when you see all these little noobs sucking up and donating and getting mod positions it makes me angry. I love sythe, but its going to hit rock bottom if we dont try to revive the old community.

 

I too didnt believe the whole G4RS thing untill just recently when I was scammed by them. This site has gone downhill and theres no return. No matter how much we beg sythe to remove the G4RS partnership, he wont. He doesnt care who gets scammed by them because he says that its "their fault for dealing in the first place." Of course they'll always be partners because they pay most of our server costs each month. Its a hard truth but its gonna be like this for a long time.

 

First: Gold4RS are not scammers. They are a horribly managed company. They have been making progress I assume or Sythe would have ended the partnership.

Second: Mods will not be biased. We all have our own opinions on everything.

Third: The people to blame for so many scammers being on Sythe are the morons that are scammed. Not the scammers. The scammers come because it is easy to scam people. If it was not easy, they would not be here.
