What's up with straight edge kids?

Honestly why do they think there better than people who do drugs, drink, have sex, or anything else. Seems like there all just punks with x's on there hands.

Wow.. They're not brain washed nor are they stupid. They made the choice not to do drugs just as you made the choice to do drugs. You saying they're brain washed it just as bad as them thinking they are better than you (and a lot of them don't even think that. All of my straight edge friends don't judge me for what I do).

They don't all think they are better than you. I have friends who smoke and I respect their decision as they do mine.

It has nothing to do with drugs, i respect the fact that there drug free. The things that bother me is that if you dont believe what they believe they will try and fight you, and that's pretty shitty.

EVERYONE calls me straight edge because i don't do drugs, don't smoke and i've never even tried either of them.

I rarely ever drink, only on special occaisions like a best friends birthday party.


Simple fact is, we choose not to do drugs or smoke etc since we value keeping healthy. We believe that, why the fuck would we do something that does nothing to benefit us? Especially since it affects as negatively.

If you need drugs and smokes to make you happy, then i pity you.


I have heaps of friends that do drugs/smoke/drink, i don't give a shit what they do, its their life. As long as they aren't one of those dickheads that are like "if you don't smoke, you aren't cool", i'm like "dude, don't be hating on me since you wish you could quit and therefore want me to get addicted to join your pathetic life of ill health".

 

Why do you people that do drugs find it so weird that we choose not to do drugs?

I am not going to argue with someone about religion over the internet. Some straight edge kids were threatining to kick my ass if i did it, and were calling me a fag. And I don't like fighting so i let them say what they wanted and would completely agree with them about me being a fag, although im not gay.

Its a proven fact that majority of teens who do drugs go absolutely nowhere in life. They are the ones working on construction sites holding the slow/stop signs or picking up your garbage. Pot leads to other things after it gets boring and than there you have it. A couple of coke heads that are fucked for life.

 

If you don't consider me straight edge, then you might want to give a definition on what you believe 'straight edge' means.

In my opinion, being 'straight edge' just means you prefer not to do anything that would result in any negative effects. Things resulting in negative effects such as drugs, smoking, damaging peoples property etc.

 

Drugs, alcohol, smoking, etc. just ruins your life, nothing more.

It's a PROVEN fact? Newsflash, the majority of teens have tried marijuana, and almost all teens have tried alcohol. Both drugs.

I know a LOT of people that smoke pot, one of them is now a coke head. Numbers big enough, it's probably not different than the people that don't smoke pot.

"Negative effects" are very much so in the eye of the beholder in this case. You say you want to avoid things that may have negative effects on your body, like drugs, yet the amount of chemicals, and other shit that your body comes into contact to on a daily basis are in some cases overlooked, and other unavoidable.

 

Please don't put Straight Edge and Punk in the same sentance.
Anyways, most straight edge kids are just corrupted by what phys ed/health teachers are forced to teach them and think they're better because of it.
Blame the media/government.
