Well like I said I got banned and I had kept well within the limits and was only partially afking so checked in and no randoms and such. Bit of a shame but was thinking of quitting anyways. Still got like 50 rid hours left lol

If Jagex could detect all bots then I would see about 100+ posts of "OMG I'm banned". But since I am not seeing everyone getting banned I would have to say they are blowing smoke to scare you.

Celticboy - last time you used RID was 13th May, a month ago. Do you think being banned today could be anything to do with RID and today's RuneScape update?! I'm not so sure. I don't know what other bots you use, if any, but you did break guidelines, by giving your combat level, and talking about in-game activity including when you were at the MTA and some other stuff you were up to.

Knowing Jagex, the day that undetectable macro software becomes available they will not acknowledge it - On the contrary, I think they would be more likely to panic, do something stupid (like remove the wilderness), and do everything possible to ban people and put people off using it. While all the people botting who appreciate they are in a war and keep their noses clean, will be free to use the software without risk. That is similar to the pattern we have witnessed since MT4 was released.

I remember reading an article a few months ago, about the wilderness removal, written by someone very high up at Jagex. It more of less said, if we hadn't of removed the wilderness when we did, RuneScape would have definitely become flooded with bots, the business would have been ruined, and nobody would play anymore. Not only is that a pretty wild assumption, but it perhaps shows what Jagex really think of their ability to detect macro software, OR is an example that they just say whatever suits them at the time. If it suits to say 'macro software is getting too hard to detect' they will say it, if it suits to say 'macro software is so easily detectable, that everyone who uses it gets banned!' which is more or less what they said today, they will say it. I don't even need to tell you guys how untrue that statement is, and it's a bit hypocritical to accuse bot makers of hiding the truth when Jagex make a constant effort to censor RID videos.

As sure as I know if I play myself I won't get a ban, I know it's possible to make undetectable software, and exactly how to do it. Like we've known for a while, Jagex work hard and can still detect an RID user who breaks the guidelines, but if you stay well within them, you will make their job hard and maybe even impossible, since nobody using MT4 who followed the guidelines has been banned before, and nobody using BlackSmith has been banned, full stop. Jagex haven't given up the fight and it sounds like they could have something up there sleeve, it's possible there will be more battles to win, but we will see. We study in full detail how our bot is getting on, and the priority has always been to bot without risking ban, I'm not sure whether the update is targetting RID but there will be no fooling RID, we will know the score, and as ever keep you guys informed of everything you need to know to stay safe.

I haven't actually logged into runescape for a month so it is definitly RID that was responsible however seeing as it seems unconnected to the current events it was probably just a freak accident.

    1. No, because RID is unique
    2. I don't think that RID would sell out for less than an incredibly impressive sum of money.
    3. Jagex never would buy them, because RID could just take the source elsewhere, revise it a bit, and make robotzindisguisee.com where he re-releases the bot.

You didn't understand what I meant in my post. What if jagex acted like they were a customer of RID? What if they have an account here on Sythe.org? And don't say jagex doesn't see this website because thats just bullshit.

Jagex is just trying to scare us and are failing. Remember that Easter pvp glitch? And jagex said they would ban everyone who did it? I still have a shit load of friends who earned 100m+ and are still unbanned. Never take their word until they actually do it.

Oh, sorry. I'm sure that they have bought the bot, but it's so similar to other players they would have a tough time banning for it. And what was the easter pvp glitch? Something where you get a DFS every time?

About 500 people have been banned so far? Only 1 RID member and it isnt even connected probably?

Jagex could be a customer but very unlikely they could figure it out to ban others.

Well the RID blacksmith beat its previous record of only smithing 30 bars by smithing over 200 and stopping at the correct amount. Grats on the updates, now let's hope that Jagex is BSing ;P

Wow! Have you guys checked out RScheata.net and RSbot.org? There have been reports of thousands of accounts banned today! Thousands!!

tofu - no worries, least I could do. After a couple of RS updates, and because most people use Neitiznot, standards dropped without me realising.

Each bot training differently, and the black-box security model, is a deadly combination. Jagex could buy 100 bots, study them for a long time, and still wouldn't know how yours or mine operates. To explain, the bot's 'brains', come from our servers, this is the part of the program that makes decisions and only the results are sent client side, all Jagex see (if they buy the bot, decompile, edit and analyse it) is what goes in and what comes out - hence the black box analogy. Compare that to a script, who's functions are set in stone, the same for everyone, and free to view - I would never use a scriptable bot, because even the best written script (which most aren't), is detectable. Even the mouse movement code is protected by the black box security model, Jagex have no idea how the bot will operate at run-time, or how the mouse movements are so miraculously human, and never will do either. Made me laught the other day when Cornflakez said it looked like RID hired a bunch of Chinese guys to play for you via the program, because that's exactly what RID is supposed to emulate, and is more or less the equivalent of that (although I'd like to stress, that it is all automated).

People (including me) had raised eyebrows after Jagex's comments today, but fair play to them, they are right about a lot of things. I see a lot of misinformation being spread in cheating communities, I should just start saying names, but these people know who they are. Any expert who tells you a scriptable bot is undetectable is a liar, or who says reflection is an undetectable process is a liar, either lying to you, or just straight up lying about their expertise.

There have been no reports of any ban being issued to an RID member today, either here, or to customer support (except celticboy, but he hasn't used RID lately, in over 4 weeks!!! He did break guidelines, and after making it sound like he got banned today, he's now saying he hadn't logged in in over a month, so it doesn't seem legit, could he be forgetting to mention something else important, like if he was using another bot lately? idk). To sum up, it's early days, but the indications are that RID isn't going to have any problems with this macro detection update. About 20% less people were botting today than normal, but still, there were a few guideline breakers, yet no report of a ban so far.

I still have faith in reflection bots like scar, scion, etc. even if they never will compare to RID. They're still fantastic and can get you a good distance if used properly.
We'll see if that faith stays after this update.
Also, I just checked rsbot.org, it's just 1000 threads titled "we will make fagex pay" etc. where people say "Let's get back at them" and then people say "yeah"! and then mods say "donate"!
Another bucket of win from RSBot.

Robotz, I really don't know anything about coding with Java, but from what you said a while back, I thought you used encryption to stop Jagex from viewing sensitive parts of your bots. But now it seems like, if you don't own your servers, couldn't Jagex technically pay off your host to secretly send them your files? Jagex would just claim how great they are, and your host could deny everything. Far fetched, but hypothetically possible.

Lol well it would take something along those lines, for Jagex to get a glimpse of the current server side functions. It's not encryption that protects these parts of the code, it's straight up black-box security model, the code isn't even sent client side, let alone encrypted.

If I had some crappy host maybe, but that's not something you need to worry about. Also there's no way this could be done without me knowing. Even without the protection of using a black box security model, RID would still be by far the most undetectable bot around, but I am the webhost for robotzindisguise.com and don't plan on sending the files to Jagex any time soon.

    RID:
You were talking about thousands of accounts banned.
Well, that might be so at Rsbot, but I did not get banned using Ibot and I've only seen 21 reports.

    RID.

Dont know if you remember me from the early days but I lost an account from RID MTA Bot (cant remember which version) this was a long time ago and was probably because i used it too much.

Anyways... You know you was talking about Jagex removing your youtube videos. Upload your own Media Player. I would use JW Album if I was you, that way they cant touch it. :)

I think what RID was trying to say about Reflection Bots being detectable, is this, although clients such as Ibot and the new Optimus bot are reflection instead of Bcel like found in Rsbot or ScionBot, the scripts they use can be detected. But, there is a less likely chance you could possibly be banned using a Reflection based bot because it has no client editing which is how thousands of people are getting banned, which makes Jagex have to work even harder to stop bots who no longer edit their clients.
