[FREE] Guide how to NOT lose money using Cannon [FREE]

If you clicked this link, you're probably trying to raise summoning and looking for the benefits of different monsters that you've heard that are decent. I heard about this method and decided to try it out, I've done a few test runs and have found a decent way to get great range xp, lots of blue/crimson charms, and get most of your money back, if not profit

I. Getting Started
To begin camping anywhere, you need a good inventory and gear. For wallasalkis, you basically just need range and prayer bonuses. Here's what I use



a. Reason behind the gear
You can swap out basically everything and place it with something else. D'hide is a good substitute for karil's, you can use robin and ranger boots instead of archer/snakeskin, use vambs instead of barrows gloves, and so on. The main focus is just to have a good combination of range and pray gear.
b. Reason behind the inventory
Obviously, cannon and cannonballs because this is a cannoning guide, and it goes pretty slowly without one. The pouches that I use are yaks, but you can swap those out for other familiars, which I'll explain later on in the familiar section. Range potions are for getting faster kills, an emergency shark just in case, thrownaxe for passing the gate, and prayer potions because you'll die in about 5 seconds without them.

II. Getting there
If you've done As a first resort, then go to Oo'glog. My favorite way to go there is to tele to ardy, take the boats, to brimhaven, walk over west and charter to Oo'glog for 1.9k (plus the 30gp to get to brimhaven).



Once you're there, equip everything, and go bathe in the center 3 pools
The pool on the left gives an estimated 10% prayer boost.
The pool in the middle gives unlimited run for about 20 minutes.
The pool on the right gives a 20% hp boost and temporary immunity from disease.
Once you're all ready, teleport to either camelot or your house (if it's in relleka) and run to the dock in relleka that goes to Waterbirth Island.



Note: if you haven't done the quest to get onto waterbirth, it'll cost you 1k to get here.


If you haven't done As a first resort, then go to camelot bank, suit up, and take this route to go to Waterbirth.


III. Through The Dungeon
Pretty straightforward, if you've ever been to the dagannoth kings before, the cannoning place is on that route, if you've never been there, here's a map I found, and I marked with a big red circle where you should stop



IV. Cannon Time
Finally, we're there, and it's time to start getting the xp. It doesn't matter all that much where you set up the cannon, so long as it's towards the center, but the best place that I've found to set it up is right here



After that, just set up the cannon and fire away

V: Familiars
You most likely don't have 96 summoning, and are looking at my picture wondering what you should bring instead. My advice: If you're looking for faster experience, bring a good fighting familiar, preferrably range based. They can speed up kills, and therefore charms and exp, by quite a bit. If you're looking to get money back, bring a beast of burden. You may need to bring a super restore/summon pot and a few extra pouches, but it'll be worth it. My first attempt, I brought steel titan, and here's what my inventory ended up as



Pretty crowded, huh, and half the time I was juggling 1-3 items on the floor waiting for my range/prayer pots to be used up.



Normally at the end of the trip, I'd just let my cannon decay and go pick it back up from Nulodian the dwarf, because it wasn't worth it dropping enough items to pick it up.
With a beast of burden, it'll allow you to pick more of those up, and make more money.

VI: Rewards
You've done all that work, now it's time to benefit from it. I mentioned earlier about the xp/charms/profit, and here's how it works.

XP- You're cannoning and ranging in multi team against mages, of course it's going to be good experience. I'm 99 range, use range potions and can get anywhere from 80-120k range exp per hour without fighting familiars.

Charms- These drop quite a few blues, and decent other charms. An average trip of 75 minutes for me usually results in around 40 gold charms, 25 green, 25 crimson, and 35-45 blues

Profit- Alongside getting around 150 death, 175 chaos, and 75 blood runes per trip, these drop skeletal (mage) dagannoth gear. Some of the drops are quite profitable. At the time of writing this:

Skeletal Gloves: Sell on GE for 59k after around 5 minutes
Skeletal Boots: Sell on GE for 24k almost instantaneously
Ribcage Piece: (Used to make skeletal body) 15k, doesn't sell on GE very well, but can be used as junk
Skull Piece: (Used to make skeletal helm) Sells on GE for 12k after around 20 minutes
Fibula Piece: (Used to make skeletal bottoms) 12k, doesn't sell on GE very well, but also can be used as junk

Along with this you can get around 5 ranarr weeds a trip.

If anyone needs a rough estimate, I average 550k in sellables (not including runes), and 100-130k in nonsellables per trip


VII: FAQ

Q:Uh oh, I have to log out but don't want to tele, what should I do?
A: Don't worry, there's a ladder right by where you set up your cannon, go up it and you'll end up in a safe area near rock crabs



Q: I have lower prayer and range than you do, what should I bring if I have (insert levels here)?
A: I can't really give an accurate inventory for what to bring for lower levels, because I started this after 99 summoning/prayer/range, but If you have lower prayer and higher range, I'd say bring less cannonballs, less range potions and more prayer pots. If you have lower range and higher prayer, bring less cannonballs, 1 less prayer potion and an extra range potion.

Q: Why those specific bolts and a crossbow? why not anything else?
A: I experimented a bit, First I used MSB with rune arrows, and I used up around 400 arrows per trip, and that got a bit pricey. You could try using steel or iron, but that'd be slower. After that, I used crystal bow, and that was good, except I used 5/10 of my bow, and so I figured it wasn't worth it to keep recharging. I then settled on broad tipped bolts, and those work fine, although you can still use addy, mith, or lower.

Q: Rock lobs still seem better than these, why go here?
A: For some people, it could be that they don't have 99 range and they have 99 mage already, for some it could be that they like seeing the blues stack up, but I go here because I already died twice at rock lobsters, and they were so monotonous and you had to pay constant attention that I found these a welcome relief, just having to make sure the cannon has cballs in it and my prayer doesn't run out.

Q: There are Wallasalkis in other spots, why this one?
A: Not sure exactly, there were just 5 wallasalkis all right next to each other and it seemed good. Also, I asked around, and every single person who had been there before and had spent some time trying it out said to use that spot.

Q: Why not melee them instead of ranging? You could use proselyte and save prayer, and hit more
A; Two reasons, the first is that it's the DK lair, which is basically a representation of the combat triangle, so melee wouldn't be very good there. The other reason is that the wallasalkis have a very short range attack, so if you go up to melee one, all the others that are on you will be lured away from the cannon, immensely slowing down your killing.

Btw, for people who use the guide.. Don't forget to pick up the cannon after like 100 balls shot or so and set it up again (can't remember exacly how many balls exacly) to avoid your cannon getting decayed.

The only thing is, Pryde's guide has nothing to do with Prayer and a 1 defence player can use his guide.

Nevertheless, this guide is good for high levels players with decent prayer & summoning levels and more initial starting cash.

I tried it some time ago on my 1 def pure once I got 43 prayer..
Just wear more prayer bonus and thats it
