Starcraft - Gaming as a national sport

Starcraft debuted in 1998. For the past 10 years it gradually evolved into a national sport in Korea, with paid players and giant stadiums.

It's become such an obsession in Korea that people have DIED from playing Starcraft too long (Lee Seung Seop). There are huge sponsorships, and all the players even wear "gaming suits".

I recently bought the game off blizzard for 15$ and gotten addicted to it. But what's everyone's opinion on this as a paid, national sport?

This shit better not be in the Olympics. How the hell is this a sport? This is an outrage!

 

Starcraft is the best computer game ever made. Zerg rush owns you all. D:

 

This game is epic.

To be truly at this game, one must have fast reflexes, fast thinking, and good prioritizing. Without those, one would be raped.

To be honest, this game will probably prepare students for school and university. Most other games, such as Runescape, are boring, and slow when compared to StarCraft. Of all games, StarCraft is the most educational of them.
