Do you think Jagex Mods look at Sythe?

Are there past mods that you think have been part of the Sythe community in some capacity?

Do you think mods look at Sythe to see black market trends?

 

probably, probably not. it's safe to assume that the Sythe community might just be a small minority of all the RuneScape players so they most probably not take everything they see here seriously.

Jagex employee's get off to fucking with gold merchers. Im confident multiple mods have visited jagex a few times. Now I doubt any are actually active members. When I worked for r2pleasent he used to tell me how mods would visit his website every so often. I also remember when r2pleasent made a post about 07 gold crashing on weath's feed and got an instant response. It was something along the lines of "Jmods been waiting a long time to meet u"

 

I love hearing these stories, it's pretty awesome. I guarantee a jmod some time or another has used Sythe to trade, buy, or sell. I don't trust any motherfucker that acts holier than thou haha.

 

How would they know that it was actual mods that visit their website tho?

 

He's had conversations with Jmods over the years. He used to be the biggest target back in the early days of rs but other websites have surpassed him and he's no longer public enemy #1 in jagex.

 

I’m almost certain there is massive hypocrisy within Jagex’s team. Mod Jed and the guy that created the bug at Corp are the tip of the iceberg.

Just think about how much lost wealth over the years is sitting on accounts made back in 2003. I can’t remember a password to my first account that had 10 Santa hats and is lost to the abyss....

I never personally had any interactions. The owner of r2pleasent did. When I worked for him he would tell me stories of his interactions with jagex and the results. They used numerous methods to fuck with him. Like removing all the gold from his accounts but not banning them. He's sold gold to mods and been banned before. He's had them in his live chat etc. Now mind you he opened in 2007. So jagex wasnt ran the same way it is today. It's much more professional and honestly I doubt they give a fuck anymore. Most of his interactions were early on. The vast majority of current staff probably dont even know him.

You would be surprised how many Mods/JMods use sythe some corrupt ones still actively trade/sell gold too

 

I dont think Jagex Mods look into sythe w/o a reason.
In my opinion wannabe p-mods / some other sort of RS sheriffs are reporting possibly uncensored screenshots etc themselves and that's what eventually brings Jmods here
They do know about Sythe, maybe they even use it as RS Players but I dont think they are looking for evidence of rwt, acc sharing etc at all without a report/tweet
Back in the day Jmods actually contacted livechats pretending to sell gold, however they done that just for few months, I even had pleasure to ban one while working for Grave in his gold shop, they used their normal Cambridge located IP so it wasn't that hard to recognise them even for novice who just got into RWT world xD
Jagex doesn't hire smart people to combat RWT or they simply don't combat RWT at all.

 

Nowadays? Doubt it.

 

RS community Mods back in the day used to browse multiple RS blackmarket forums in the hopes of catching big-fish sellers/buyers. When free trade returned in 2011, many community mods would browse Sythe trying to catch people.

Nowadays? Probably not. Mainly due to independent gold-sites drawing far more traffic combined, than Sythe.org does. Whereas back in 2011 and earlier, this website was the go to for everything RS related.

 

they absolutely do, infact it's in the job description of the anti-cheating specialists that work for jagex..

they regularly monitor and look at cheating forums and ban players from/on them

recently even i know someone who got hit with a ''selling accounts'' ban, which is generally unheard of, so be careful

 

totally doubt they would ban accounts manually that way, as it's such a very inefficient way of using their manpower.
