[Official] Attack on Titan - Season 4 Discussion

Chapter 135 was good. I just hope Mikasa doesn't stutter in front of Eren again.

Season 4 is out. 2 episodes in.

Slowly but surely the build up is happening, and the eventuating final battle is going to be nuts. Enjoying seeing the Eldians in Marley's backstory, and how they all fit into the season 1 - 3 storyline. Not much has been left answered atm, aside what appears to be some secret agenda of Zeke and co.

 

Heard final season started running and continued Season 3 Part 1 which I dropped back in 2018, unfortunately no idea why, because in my opinion at that point it just started getting more interesting, so I watched recaps of previous seasons and damn, never thought that the story is going to be like this, when I first started watching it when first season was just freshly out.

Can't wait to see what more surprises and nice fights we have!

TODAYS EPISODE WAS CRAZY

Lol ye, never thought the story would end up like this, when we still had Season 1-2

 

everything is so different after they crossed the sea love how its gonna end up

 

The genius that is Isayama. The absolutely amazing world building, and how the show has evolved past simple being Island vs Titans. Everything is connected - there are so many parallels between s1-4, both paralleled dialogue, and scenes. Honestly, I'm blown away how they've slowly transformed the show from simply an action based anime, to a full based drama, that is so much more than it originally was. The issues that were paramount in season 1, in relation to Island vs Titans - we now see that said issue was just a drop in the ocean, compared to what was happening globally.

 

yeah, i just watched a video earlier that showed foreshadowing all the way from season 1 to stuff now. its crazy how he managed to remeber those details and attatch them all the way this far out, i know the plot is only going to get better, can't wait :excitement:

 

another crazy episode, i for sure though one of the titans was gonna be eaten, chanced so hard.

next ep looks like levi vs beast titan again? amazing animation this ep for sure though

I'm super happy we got to see Mikasa, Jean, Sasha, Connie, and Levi again. They all look so good in MAPPA's style. The Attack Titan vs Warhammer Titan fight is getting intense, and although I've already read the manga, I'm super excited to see it animated. I've been seeing a lot of MAPPA hate for all the CGI on other forums but, personally, I think they're doing an amazing job. The next episode is gonna be great, I'm very excited!

Unfortunately, you're right. This is the one part I'm dreading to see animated since she's one of my favourite characters. I'm pretty sure it is the next episode.

 

Just finished ep 6. Great episode. Have they recruited new scouts between the end of s3 - now? I couldn't recognise that younger looking one being yelled at. Presumably we'll get a flashback that fills us in on what transpired from the end of s3 - now (i.e, why they planned what they planned, and how)? Any manga readers, could you confirm.

 

Yup, there are some new scouts. Do you by chance mean this guy getting yelled at by Jean?

That's Floch Forster, he played a minor role in season 3. He just looks different now because of the time skip + new style.

im glad we got to see this shit show go down, looking forward to seeing them escape with their newfound warhammer titan powers and what eren can do with it.

I was hoping to see eren eat the jaw titan and pieck too but too early to say that with so much plot that still has to go down

also how the fuck did eren manage to transform literally 4 times throughout the fight, crazy as hell

 

Great ep. The parallels between when Reiner and co caused chaos and killed thousands in Paradis island during their first and subsequent attacks, and how we the viewers instantly saw them as the 'bad guys'; whereas now, if you watched this ep in isolation, Eren and co would be the 'bad guys'. The writing is honestly amazing. It all ties back to Eren and Reiner both realising that neither them, or their respective countries are good or bad guys, but what had been set in motion years ago has to end, one way or another. I'm glad they've made it obvious that the Eren and co are conscious of what they are doing isn't good, but more so has to be done.

I think it comes down to how well one masters their Titan powers, and their own will. Eren is likely the strongest in that regard. Plus, Eren's Titan is the most powerful out of all titans.

 

yeah after watching this episode i figured some type of 'will' had to do with how strong they were, e.g. reiner
