THIS SHOULD BE STICKIED. I HAVE SEEN THIS SCAM GOING ON FOR TOO LONG.​

It has come to my attention that alot of the name sellers are complete fakes. They use a variety of different ways to "make" it look legit and real.

Here are just some things to look out for.

1.) Create a Account! URL Change.

Just 2 seconds ago I did this.



Looks real doesn't it? Well, it's not.
All they have done is changed the url. For example..



Can be turned into ..



JUST BY A CHANGE IN URL!
This can be used with many things, runescape inbox's, and others.

2.) Photoshop, the most common of scamming.

It may look real, it's not. Look: http://members.home.nl/maxthedragon/downloads.html


ALWAYS ASK FOR PROOF INGAME

SCAMMER TECHNIQUE 2 - BY THEHACKER

Any scammer could edit a screenie easily, even if he's trusted. Even if somebody tells you he's legit, always ask for ingame proof. Now if you get scammed, and haven't read this, do so, and remember for future purposes.

It's obvious people can do that.. If you're a mastermind at photoshop, it takes 5 seconds. I'm used to photoshop, so I could do it no problem.. But, what would be the fun in being banned for scamming?

 

Just because it's obvious to you, doesn't mean it is to others.

 

Yes, but they should already know before hand trading. It helps well to know the easiness of being scammed out of beloved items. But, I thank you for this post in helping others know the easy possibilities of being scammed.
