Our Current Moderators

I'm pretty cool with most of them, it just seems like they don't get along well sometimes. You'll see them arguing over random topics. However, I respect all the moderators that I've dealt with.

I'd have to say it seems the people connected to IRC are getting promoted more than active members of Sythe. Maybe there is a logical reason behind it. I'm not sure.

 

Are you protected by what we say, and will my posts be deleted if certain staff members don't like what I have to say?

and yes, IRC addicts are MUCH MORE likely to get promoted becasue of the rendancy of the staff to hang out there, however i don't think this is right because its not even a sythe.org irc.

Also, this may be a bit of topic i find its very unprofessional when mod's arguee, ill see if i can find a link but i saw a argument yesterday.

 

The one staff member that bothers me the most is Pen. He's less active than most of the staff, he's never on MSN, it takes days to get him to respond to a PM (if at all), etc etc. He's a good admin, knows what he's doing and all that, but he's really not active enough to be an admin in my opinion.

Finniscool Even though I am not to fond of him, I admit he has been doing a good job.
Matthew Not as active in the actual forum as he once was.
Pen Not as active in the actual forum as he once was.
Sythe Doesn't seem to care about the actual community... Just the money, but I guess you have to see it from his eyes... he is making quite alot.

Daily Cool guy, excellent Mod.
Giddy Very helpful, deserves Admin IMO.
Jansen Don't really know him, he seems nice, and like a good mod. (To soon to tell)
Sin666 Don't really like them, I think theres more than just Right \ Wrong influencing their decisions.

Verts Seems cool, very nice, caring, and loveable, Doesn't deserve global mod (not to be mean), I think was just given mod cause she is friends with current mods and admins, I think offtopic or GFX would be better for her.

IRC users are more likely to be promoted not because they are on the IRC, but because they are social and generally more intelligent (given that they know how to use irc.. most members can't even manage that).

Mods aren't robots. We have opinions, and they do not always line up perfectly.

Sythe- in one year, i've seen one post thats not a sticky.

i can not however fully judge then admin team as i have no idea of what thee doing in the dark.

Giddy-proberally the best mod around.
Jansen-new but has great experiance.
Sin666-very efficient.
Swan-i see no difference as a global from what he did as a programming mod.
The Viper000-good mod great activity levels.
Verts-prefered her as both WoW/GFX mod, has left the sections shockingly under represented.
x⁹-good mod, makes me laugh.

Pshynosis-to quiet. and frankly i didn't know he was any good with gfx.

This is the second time you've called me corrupt, and you still have nothing to back it but your secret crush on itsallaboutfriends. (See? I can come up with conspiracy theories too.)

The reason I didn't post the proof on Itsallaboutfriends is that I still had things to discuss with Giddy, and I saw no reason to leak the thread she made in the Staff Lounge, nor the false accusation Draggin Pure made against Tengauge (which is by now public) - both of which help to prove her guilt. Giddy, who she (and you) thought would exonerate her, agreed that the evidence was convincing.

She was already evading a ban on the account Natalia anyway; hence why I said I had no intention to unban her regardless, and her dispute was therefore irrelevant.

If you're going to dislike me, by all means, dislike me for something I've done. Not for something I haven't.

Matthew - You seem to get things done, you're not incredibly active but I shouldn't judge your administration by that.
Pen - Same as Matthew
Sythe - Same as Matthew and Pen

Daily - Decent, active enough I suppose
Giddy - You do wonders, Nuff said
Jansen - Your activity has jumped greatly since your promotion, keep it up
Sin666 - Does a wonderful job dealing with disputes, and scam reports, great to talk to
Swan - Your activity could improve a bit.
The Viper000 - You're more behind the scenes with your moderation, but I do know that you do work.
Verts - Incredibly active, keep it up

Finniscool - Good mod. Finn has always been pretty nice to me on my old account, and he's usually very fair. Always gets to the bottom of disputes. Sometimes slightly opinionated and stubborn but overall this is compensated for.
Matthew - Haven't seen him around lately, or ever.
Pen - Not active, posts usually do not contribute. Does not deserve admin by public standards, but maybe he does important stuff I don't know about?
Sythe - Inactive and also not very contributing. Thanks for the site though.

Daily - Great mod; active and amusing
Giddy - Also a great mod; very active and fair
Jansen - He's always acted intelligently to date
Sin666 - Probably the best 'moderator' on the site. Not very funny, and she is uncompromising, but she does her job perfectly and gets it done. Active and intelligent.
Swan - Doesn't deserve global. Inactive and wasn't exactly helpful or active as a normal mod.
The Viper000 - Good mod; active and helpful, but sometimes bias (aren't we all though?)
Verts - Nice although I'm not sure if she deserves the global mod position. Seems to do her job well though.
x⁹ - Awesome mod.

Pshynosis - Sometimes very funny and cool and sometimes wildly unfair and mean.

R33l2r3al - I liked him in UE; he's nice and helpful, and seems to be fair.

Darkgroove - Old mod. Cool and fair, usually one of the mods to give people that deserve it second chances.
You Jew - Honestly, I don't think he deserved mod at all. Seems to be nice enough.

MegaMatt - Funny and pretty nice (usually), he hasn't lost his personality pre-mod (some mods that were hilarious and raunchy become deadpan )
Tgump - I've always liked Tgump for no particular reason.

Darthatron - Who is Darthatron?
SuF - ^ ^ ^ ....but I'd like to know what your name stands for!

benwise90 - Wasn't a great person pre-mod, but has since become way cooler (reverse conformity??)
Billyy - Quite honestly this is another mod that does not deserve the position. Pretty cool and funny but I don't think he has a mod mentality or dedication.
blupig - Global plz.

DropKick Murphys - I never thought his SFA posts were that logical or intelligent pre-mod and I'm not relly sure why we have a SFA mod, because that sections activity isn't huge. Nice guy though.

That's my feedback. I think the major problem right now is the mod paradox. We have this influx of new mods and all are failing relatively quickly. If we could hammer down a few solid positions then the system might be stable again. For the most part my review of the staff is positive; keep up the good work!

Most of the Moderators here seem to be good to talk to and do a outstanding job on keeping the Forum clean but there is the odd couple who are very un-proffesional.

Also, the accusation against Tengauge involved leaking, not scamming.

On this issue, I'd agree that Jethr0x should work out his problems with me off the forums. However, as long as he's going to post them publicly, it would be remiss not to answer them in the same fashion.

On other issues, I don't think it's unprofessional to disagree. In fact, I think it's better that people know that the staff is not a single entity, and that there are different opinions being argued and represented. The Government is much the same, if you think about it; Republicans and Democrats are always fighting over one issue or another, and even though it would be 'nice' if they agreed with each other all the time, it is reassuring to know that if something is wrong, there will be someone to argue against it.

 

I don't really know any current moderators, but some of the moderators from 2007 were teh awesum, such as Daily500, x9, Shredderbeam, TDD, etc. So far, my experience with some of the new moderators have not been good.

 

All mods are doing a fine job, although many aren't active. I haven't heard of about three, so being on more would be nice.

 

Finniscool - The most active Administrator on the site, obviously. Can sometimes be stubborn, but he is very helpful and does his job well.
Matthew - Quite the ninja. He doesn't post much, but he composes many useful mods for the site. More activity would be nice.
Pen - Doesn't deserve to be an Administrator in my opinion. Barely does much that is visible anymore. I'm sure he does things, but I preferred Shredder. Moderator days were much better for you.
Sythe - He's okay. The site is nice, but more maintenance would be appreciated.

Daily - Pretty cool and nice all around. More activity in sections other than Off Topic would make him godly.
Giddy - An extremely helpful staff member. Is fairly active in all sections.
Jansen - There's an obvious correlation between his previous position / friendship with current staff that got him directly promoted to Global. I don't think he deserves it, but I think he would be good as an OT Moderator.
Sin666 - By definition and what I've seen, she is probably the best of the Globals. Extremely active in the report and dispute sections, and her sarcasm is quite comical at times.
Swan - I've only seen about two posts by him, and I had no idea who he was until a week or two ago when I looked him up. Not active enough, and I believe that a demotion is necessary.
The Viper000 - Seen him around quite a bit, and his posts are mostly relevant and helpful. The snake scares me, though.
Verts - I think she is great and all, but she was much better as a WoW and Graphics moderator.
x⁹ - I've barely every seen you, so I can't judge about your moderating. I wish you would be more active, because many say you're a great person.

Pshynosis - Not very active in sections other than his own. I haven't seen him post much in there, actually.

R33l2r3al - Very nice, and is the glue that holds his section together.

Darkgroove - I see him quite a bit, and his posts pertain to the topic. Helpful, but I can't really judge more than that.
You Jew - I suppose this is how they all start out, but he's active. Hope it remains this way.

MegaMatt - Active and maintains his section. More proper grammar would be nice.
Tgump - All around is great, and as he's mentioned twice before, I vouched for him.

SuF - Not the greatest, and can be a bit argumentative. Does reports sometimes.

benwise90 - Used to be highly active, but I've seen him progressively getting more idle. He's great when he works, though.
Billyy - Amazingly cool and often high, but I'm not sure if he should be a Moderator.
blupig - He's okay from what I've seen, but I don't do that too much.

DropKick Murphys - Keeps his section neat, and gets rid of unintelligent topics. Nie from what I've witnessed.

Please do not be offended by what I've said. I tried to be as honest as I could without being mean, and nothing said was meant to single out anyone.

I think that I'm quite a bit more intelligent than many members on the site, but I can't even get into a channel on IRC.

The info I posted in the upper lounge proves the scamming. (Mind you, before he was modded).

I don't think you realize... for that to work, you would have to accept my add.

Say wha-? Just because I don't spend my time posting in those sections doesn't mean I don't moderate them. I've been putting effort into getting the WoW Sythe guild up and running to try and bring more activity to that section.

Now, that's just rude.


Ehhhh if mod logs were made public, people may think differently about their comments.
