    No, You are wrong. They do not steal anything. A FREAKER steals info. how would you know, YOU WOULDN'T. well you would if you know what to look for but if you know what to look for then you most likely wont get hacked.

    You should also note the difference between a hacker and a scammer, and a hacker and a wannabe hacker.

    Hackers " a programmer who breaks into computer systems in order to steal or change or destroy information as a form of cyber-terrorism ". Are you sure you're not confusing your definition of freaker with phreaking?

    That is butchering the term for general social use.

    The original definition of hack was to piece together bits of code goddammit.

    never heard the word 'freaker' before, but yes hacker, hacked, hack etc are widely misused words.

    it's annoying seeing idiots say 'pmfg i got hacked!' when really they just stupidly gave out their information.

    Thank you, someone who actually knows what they are talking about.

    Let me get this straightened out for everybody..

    First of all, the word Freaker isn't even a word. I think you are trying to refer to the term "Phreaking", which is "the activity of a subculture of people who study, experiment with, or explore telecommunication systems, like equipment and systems connected to public telephone networks".

    And for the definition you were using, you would be talking about a Cracker or a Blackhat Hacker.

    Black Hat Hacker: hackers who specialize in unauthorized penetration

    Cracker: a programmer who cracks (gains unauthorized access to) computers, typically to do malicious things; "crackers are often mistakenly called hackers"

    "Some frown upon using hacking as a synonym for security cracking -- in distinct contrast to the larger world, in which the word hacker is typically used to describe someone who "hacks into" a system by evading or disabling security measures."

    Etc Etc

    Quoted for truth.

    99% of kids who are "hacked" are actually "scammed." And they're only "scammed" because they're dumb asses.

    You mean Phreaker?

    'cause freaking/phreaking has to do with mobiles...

    whitehat = good guy hacker
    blackhat = bad guy hacker

    Hacker still = both of them.
    EDIT: The ONE time I CBF'd to read a thread and like 3 people posted the same thing before me...
