Why isn't Blupig global yet?

Today, after looking at the promotions and looking around at the forums, this thought came into my head - Why isn't Blupig a global?

Blupig has been a moderator since 11-22-2008 and started off as a WoW moderator and eventually decided to go to RS mod. Blupig has been a moderator for seven months and we haven't ceased to see a promotion which is quite odd because some people haven't been a moderator for a 1/4 of the time and still get the promotion. Blupig does his job, and quite well so in the future I hope to see Blupig as global

 

This 'he's been here this long and therefore deserves this' idea is stupid.

 

There are others who have been there for longer. As Finn said, I assume the amount of work they do gets taken into consideration.

 

Advances in ranks are given for loyalty, activity, maturity, helping out in general, etc. I'm not saying Blupig isn't a good candidate for global, but the length of time he has been on the staff is irrelevant.

 

There are some sections that are more active, loyal, and mature than some globals.

Why is this?

 

Maybe they were promoted before the Sectional was modded?
(That has no reference to anybody just saying)

 

Going by this logic, Pshynosis, Billyy, Darkgroove and I should all be globals as well.

 

Well I'm pretty sure there are some sectionals that are upset with the promotion of Jansen and them still at sectional.

 

Of course... I am glad he is back, but others may not be so happy. I do not see why everyone thinks getting global is such a big deal. You just have more people pestering you all the time... >____>... People should not need promotions to make them work hard and be happy.... :/

I never said it wasn't. What do you think the benefits of being global are?

 

A real ban hammer is always nice.

Upper lounge is a nice inactive place too.

The color red is pretty cool.

Lots of other things...

 

Ask a global, because honestly I'm not going to list every single forum benefit.

What ever you say. I already know the benefits of being a global. Seems like you don't. Why do you even care if Blupigs a global? Why should anyone care if they are a global and not a sectional?

 

You got sectional and were happy, right?

Edit: also, SuF, you don't care about Global because you're isolated in your sections. You moderate the programming and you do some spam reports. Having to request a ban for every single person you ban, gets pretty annoying after a few. You can't view user options, you can't forum ban, you can't permanently ban, you can't even change signatures unless you're a GFx mod.

 

Quite. You hit on the accomplishment reason... Better than the first few that popped to my mind...

If a person feels that moderation is just work and they do not like it, they should not be a mod. I of course feel like moderation is a job sometimes, but I still like doing it most of the time. Like doing Spam reports in chem class is always a lot more interesting than my teacher explaining why melting and freezing points are the same for an entire class..... D:
