"good" metal varies from person to person
i personally like iron maiden and megadeth.

 

I'd say those bands would be categorized under "Shitty Metalcore" (not to say that there is such a thing coined good metalcore).

I don't know many metalcore bands so I can't really help you in that regard.

I love to listen to Kalmah, as they're melodic death metal. One of my favorite songs from them is They will return; it has an awesome solo Other than that, metal like Megadeth play good too.
