Brain Storming, Spitballing, Ideas for Runescape.

Alright, not sure if there is a thread like this; I apologize if there already is. I'm fairly new to these fourms, even though this account was created about two years ago.

Now, to the ideas:

I think Beast Riding or Horse Riding would make an amazing new skill. Think about it, you would travel around the world of Runescape much faster while riding a horse or beast of some kind. They could create new mini games, or pvp areas like Jousting Tournament. It would be like Duel Arena, except with horses, and lances. Your combat skills would determine how easily you are knocked off your horse. Jagex could place a load of convenient horse stables in every town in Runescape where your horse (or beast) would be stored while not in use. As you level up, you would be able to buy, or access, better horses or beasts to ride. I was thinking, wouldn't it be amazing to fly around on a dragon? You would probably need about 99 for that feat. Like the knights of old, their horses were as splendid as the knights themselves. Jagex could provide a number of interesting armors for your horse to wear, to help it in combat.

Little fixes around Runescape:

There is a number of things I would like to be added to Runescape. One definite: times of day. Examples: night, twilight, noon, etc. This would be easy to do, and give Runescape a more realistic feel. I know there are tons of time zones around the world. How Jagex would manage this is, on the world selection, place a small icon of a moon or sun. This would help players choose a world with the time of day/night they wanted.

Also, I think weather would be another amazing add-in. I would love to be walking around the jungle of Karamja and a pouring rain storm come down. To do this and other things, Jagex would have to actually make a sky. I have wanted a real sky for some time now, not blackness, not fog, a SKY. Seasons go hand and hand with this. It would be spectacular to visit Varrock at Christmas time and have snow everywhere, not those little piles of snow they did a couple Christmases ago. With the different seasons, they could do like what I suggested with weather, have an icon next to the world telling what season it is in.

Not bad ideas maybe the Beast Riding would be a new minigame rather than a skill, but I read somewhere on the forums that night and day will never be added to Runescape.

I've been thinking about horse riding for a while but never done anything about it. The new mini games connected to horse riding would be amazing too. Maybe horse riding could be added into summoning? So you ride your summoning pet?

Time zones would also be great. Night/day ect, maybe seasons too?
And the weather is, indeed, boring.

 

Decent idea about the riding, but how would you level it up? Or would it go by your cb level?

 

ya, beast riding would be a tedious skill to up. you'd what.... ride from Seers to yanille and then back again to gain 100xp per trip? not really practicle for a full blown skill.
maybe a new pouch that lets you ride it to make running a distance go more quickly?

Hmm... did not think of that. Possibly fighting while riding the horse. Doing horse related mini games, quests ect. I will try to think of a good system for the leveling.

I hope Jagex change their mind about the night and day thing, it really would be nice.

 

Another skill I think would be a good addition would be Music Playing or MP. You would get to play lutes, flutes, drums, etc. It would be neat; you could make RS bands and play with friends, each playing different instruments. The more people who arrive at the show raises the rate of experience, as well as how long you play. The higher level, the better instruments. Now, remember the most recent Easter Event, and how you did the conveyor belt thing? They could make an interface like that, which would be similar to guitar hero, which would allow you to create your own songs, etc. The gnomes could make interesting instruments like electric lutes, etc. They could also make new quests, and areas available. The skill could also provide interesting benefits like restoring run energy, and putting monsters into trances, or to sleep. So what do you think?

I agree with them all. It would be a lot funnier to play RS again then.

 

I doubt that horse/beast riding will ever happen. The graphics suck way to much to create flowing movement with a horse. It would look terrible. The only way to make it look good would be to go to the level that the mounts for WoW are. Only way, so doubt it will happen. It would be a huge remodeling job to the whole game in terms of graphics, smoothness, etc.

 

To gain XP and level up it could be similar to agility. You could have to follow a path, or a course with your horse/creature? Just an idea?
