    Moving to America.

In the not too distant future both a friend and I plan on moving to America. Where? I'm not certain, this is where you come in. A friend and I plan on renting a spacious apartment.

I'll probably end up moving becoming a big shot lawyer first because law school takes less time then my friend's medical school, so I'm more likely to succeed first before he becomes a fat rich doctor. I’ll probably be able to buy a nice house before him then.

I like the idea of New York, because I love cities and can't stand smaller places.

I also like the idea of Memphis, as it is big and I have a friend near there too.

I’ve already been to Orlando, Florida but I found that the residential areas were too remote. I can picture myself living there, but it’d have to be in an area where everything isn’t so isolated.

Make sure your suggestions contain plenty of Golden Corrals, Checkers and Wal marts.

    Thanks.

Come to canada we actually have jobs, less crime, attractive women and way fewer trucks.

Halifax is probably a lot nicer than those other cities. I've been across Canada and in multiple states, Boston and Halifax would have to be my favorite.

    California? :p

NYC: Way too expensive for most people.
Memphis: One of the highest crime rates.

I would go out west somewhere.

Living in NYC is a love it or hate it type of deal. If you are seriously thinking about moving there, ask some New Yorkers about it before you do it. Alot of people regret it.

Like Finn said, how are you even planning this?

Apartment costs money, food costs money, you can't rent a place with no job, you can't get a job with no Green Card+, you'll have to pay taxes, you'll come here live a shitty ass life because you didn't go directly to college.

Think it over, it's really a bad idea right now.. You don't seem to have a definite location, you don't know where to find apartments, you won't be able to get a job (definitely not), you can't pay for the rent off of money you have, a lot of people sign you on contracts and if not, you'll run out of money and won't be able to work for more than $4 an hour because you won't be a legal worker.

Best plan for anyone to come here is either to have a family member in the United States make them a citizen/get them a green card or come here on an F1 visa which requires an educational institution (for a university basically).

    This is what is planned.

However we're probably going to wait for a while because we're just stupid kids, and the economy is severely fucked.
1: As I said, we're just stupid kids at the moment. We'll have an immigration lawyers help us sort out the application for a green card.

2: We'll all be working jobs that pay generous wages for a long time before we even book plane tickets.

3: My aspiration is quite different. I've already been to America. I'd love to re-live that permanently, by becoming at least a permanent citizen.

Worst case scenario, I don't get it. That really doesn't destroy my plans on becoming a successful lawyer.

4: New York was only one of a few possibilities. As if I'm going to fly there, have an apartment all set up for rent and just start living there. Of course I'll check it out before considering the possibility of living there.

Baltimore area is nice, don't go to New york city, high taxes, and everything costs more.
