You say we wouldn't have to keep re-laying roads, but we wouldn't need roads if there wasn't any cars. Just main roads for Buses i guess.

I think it would be pretty cool if there was some way to count how many cars there are in the world, would be pretty impressive.

No, I'm roughly a twenty minute car ride to school.
Cars make the world a little bit closer together. They're a convenient and somewhat quick form of transportation.

How do you not understand that I live in the middle of no where and that unless they spent HUGE amounts of money and charged us HUGE amounts to use it, then it would never happen... People will walk a max of a few hundred feet... Meaning... On every road... Near every house thats far from the road... A station that are a few hundred feet apart... Not going to happen...

It's called strategic planning? You don't put a station at every single house, that's blowing the idea out of proportion. Also without cars, every mode of transportaion would become drastically cheaper, more metallic resources to build with. It would all become cheaper. As said before, getting rid of cars won't just save hundreds of thousands, it will save billions, and where can that money go.....oh wait i didn't mention 'upgrading' anything yet have i? Ugh i'm not gonna even try to s p e l l it out for you anymore, you're focusing on points i've already said, making me repeat myself which is unnecesary. Also you don't take into account ALL the aspects of an idea, so there really is no point continuing our discussion since i must explain every small detail that you think is a major problem.

Actually, come to think of it, seeing as all you've done as of yet is refute the idea, what exactly is your 'genius' plan if cars were gone

I think, that personal driving should be banned.
Buses, and taxis should be the only cars available.
By that, there would be less smoke on the streets, and the world would be a cleaner and BETTER place to live.

Who is the government to step in and ban the major form of transportation available today? We built our transportation infrastructure around the car.
Even if it did save billions of dollars (which I don't think it would), it would cost at least that much to build railway systems all across the country.

I don't think thats a good idea. But it can definitely reduce the air pollution.

I don't think there's possible to remove all cars from the world's surface. However, we could decrease the use of cars. If we upgraded the railways and the collective services it would be easier for everyone to use collectives.
Me, as SuF, lives like in the middle of nowhere, and it's hard to use the bus and train but if it was upgraded I'm sure people would use it more.

Everything would just take longer and we would just be traveling like they did in the late 18th and early 19th centuries.
