I have many grammar questions and I am terrible at it.
    Please help.
Most questions will be A. or B. I will post here.
    Thanks for the help!
If this is in the wrong spot, I will delete it and post it somewhere else.

Also If you do not mind posting an explanation of why it is wrong and why the other choice is right, That would help a lot! That way I can figure out what I am looking at wrong and why the answer is a better choice and learn from it.

    First Question.
    Which uses correct punctuation?

Difference between sentences is the , between was and "thoughtful

    A. Ms. Oaks told my mom that my science project was, "thoughtful and thorough, showing real interest in the assignment!"

    B. Ms. Oaks told my mom that my science project was "thoughtful and thorough, showing real interest in the assignment!"

    Second Question.
    Which uses correct punctuation?

Difference is the comma between that and "sleep

    A. I agree with Tibetan Buddhist Dalai Lama Tenzin Gyatso's statement that "Sleep is the best meditation."

    B. I agree with Tibetan Buddhist Dalai Lama Tenzin Gyatso's statement that, "Sleep is the best meditation."

    B is correct.

Neither are right, in that 'sleep' has a capital letter on both, though no new sentence has been started. Take that to your teacher and complain.

If you want the mark, it's supposed to be A, though.

    Intro:
possibly explain how you think attitude is important in a day to day basis. then go on to say it can effect your decision making which can branch out into a whole lot of things. Then for a possible thesis, if this is a formal paper of course, explain how you can change your attitude on a day to day basis which can lead to new oppurtunites?

    Bodys:
Utilize some of the points given in the prompt
"It is more important than my past , my education , my bank roll, my successes or failures , fame or pain , what other people think of me or say about me, my circumstances or my position"
Why and how would changing your attitude and maintaining a good attitude effect your education, your successes, etc.
Ex. If you're a downer about school then you arent going to absorb alot of information and youre grades possibly might slip. This could lead to further consequences. If youre in high school, your grade could slip and what if you couldnt recover it? if going to college, the admissions are going to see that bad grade and it could close a door of oppurtunity to that school. This could lead to a less impressive school which businesses might not be impressed by, which could lead to effecting your bank roll. This could lead downhill pretty fast if you can follow my reasoning.

"Attitude is that " single string " that keeps me going or cripples my progress."

From that information above, explain why attitude is so important that it can keep you on a steady road to success...or to failure?

"It alones my fuels, my fire or assaults my hope. when my attitude are right, there no barrier to high , no value to deep , no dream too. Extreme no challenge o great for me. "

Again utilize previous information to conclude your third body paragraph strong. This is basically saying that attitude can lead to the sky being the limit of what is possible, and that attitude can help you achieve your dreams.

    Conclusion:
Conclude your thoughts, but be concise. This paragraph should be 2-3 sentences.

There you go! Hope this helps

I'm only in Year 9 (UK) :p but I am the smartest guy in the year. That's not a lie.

How do you solve equations where you try and find "x" and on both sides you have a fraction?

    e.g.

    7x + 1 / 3 = 3x + 8 / 4

    Thanks :p

Alright. Firstly, an idea would be to choose which side you want the variable, in this case, "x" on.

    Lets say, the left side.

Firstly, you move the /3 and it becomes multiplication.

    So now, you've got

    7x + 1 = 3(3x + 8 /4)

Take the one over, then divide by 7.

    So it will be,

    3(3x + 8 / 4) - 1 /7 = x

    Expand the brackets.

    ((9x + 24) / 12) - 1 all over 7. = x

    Expand the brackets again.

    (3/4)x + 2 - 1 all over 7. = x

    3/4 = .75

    (.75 x + 1) / 7 = x

    Move the .75x over.

    1/7 = 1/4x

    (1/7) * 4 = x.

    Hope that helped broski!

Well Mr Kroll, I found a tutorial and it said to do something like this (im using the real question now):

    7-2x/4 = 2-3x/3

    x12

    12(7-2x)/4 = 12(2-3x)/3

    simplify

    3(7-2x) = 4(2-3x)

    multiply out brackets

    21-6x = 8-12x

    +6x

    21 = 8-6x

    -8

13 = -6x << I saw this should be negative as I was typing this out, Sythe+Maths is ftw.

    /6

    -2.166666667 = x

    Right?

Of course. I can't remember what law or shit that is, but yeah, that'll work. I feel like an idiot. 11 Maths C and I can't solve a grade 9 problem. I'm thinking too complex.

    Sorry broski.

I'm gonna be the only 9th grader (is that how people say it in America :p?) to do this >.<
Thanks for the help though, I would have ended up putting positive 2.1667 instead of negative.

kayosman, if you don't have a variable in the fraction you can just treat the fraction like a normal number.

    7x + 1 / 3 = 3x + 8 / 4

    subtract 1/3 from 8/4

    which is 5/3

    subtract 3x from 7x

    You get 4x = 5/3

    divide by 4

    x = (5/3)/4

    then simplify.
