Why do the forums always load much more slowly on the weekend. There are times when it takes several times to access one page and takes forever to post a comment.

Though I don't understand why there is no good anti-ddos protection. Even the hosting should supply that.

Yes or you were blocked by the anti-DDoS script which seemed to ban everyone not ddosing and the not the ones actually causing touble.

If you guys are spending soooooo much money on a host, why the hell don't it stop the attacks? You think that would be in with the cost..

Anti-ddos isn't as easy as it sounds.. A lot of it involves purchasing very expensive hardware, and a lot of filtering which does not always work... some of the weaker routers and switches meant to mitigate ddos attacks go for $50,000+... I personally think it isn't worth it unless you're hosting a company site where web traffic is necessary for the company to succeed..

Sythe is a high traffic site.. many "anti-ddos" services available on many hosts would not work at all for sythe, even for its natural traffic....
