    What if we want to start running and can't even do that much?

    An ok guide. I'm not much of a runner myself but i know quite a few. If i did running would i get better at jumping too?

    he said for "sprinters" if you read the whole thread. Really if you can't run for that long then you need to be starting off easy and gradually increasing the amount of time you run each day.

    Day 1: run for 5 min

    Day 2: run for 6 min

    etc.

    it will become easier with a plan like this.

    If you don't think you can run for 25 minutes straight...first off, it's really not that hard. When I started, I had no endurance whatsoever, only speed. You just have to force yourself the first few days (starting a little slower is alright, just don't make a habit of it) and it will become easier. That's the only way it's going to happen.

    I participate in 100M sprints on my high-school track and field team, we usually do interval training to increase endurance and stamina. I suggest you do the same. (Ex: Sprint 200M full-out, then 130, 80, 20, 250.)

    Good guide, pretty basic. Just doing this every day wont make you faster in other races besides the 200. Also you said to run and lift in the same day, that is not a good idea at all. Don't want to work your body to hard, and you will have lactic acid build up from running or lifting. So only do one every other day. Over all a very basic but nice guide.

    Thanks man, I'm gonna make some changes to my workouts with stuff from this guide. ( I play basketball, run 100m, and discus )

    wow very nice, guide. lol sadly since i didn't go out for track was struggling with my grades ect. after football and basketball. will help me now that its to late to join the team :) 10/10

    The only thing I'd like to point out is running shoes don't matter as long as they're not from target. Big 5 has some nice running shoes, I have a pair of $40 running shoes and they work fine. Forgot the brand, Haven't worn them in awhile.

    EDIT: I have $40 New Balances that work great.

    Static stretching is not the best choice before a day of training; drills are a much better choice. High knees, butt kicks, A, B, and C walk and march, and karaoke are the way to go before practicing.

    Pretty good, it's all about keeping it intense and working at 85% or above of your maximum heart rate

    (Estimated maximum heart rate: 220- your age, a 16 year olds would be 204)
