Legalize Marijuana?

California has a bill in congress. I believe Minnesota does as well? Google it, lots of cool info on it and the one in Cali is being sponsored by the Orange County Police Chief!

 

They seriously should legalize this. The Bible doesn't say anything about doap being wrong, and the cops are just smoking it themselves anyways.

 

If laws were based by exactly what the bible said, then we would be living in a hell.

Marijuana is NOT for dumb-asses to smoke, It's a wise choice. Which would you rather be, A drunk getting a DUI and fined for over $25,000, or a stoner whose decision to smoke weed will soon be legal - and causes no harm?

 

ROFL, I love that quote and it's so true. When you're high you're in your own world just relaxing, what's so evil about that? I've had a choice to get behind the wheel while I was high and I said no because I was able to realize that I was so dizzy I couldn't walk in a straight line. When you're high you're not an idiot you can make decisions between right and wrong.

 

It's easy as hell to drive high but you get cocky and pay less attention. Your reaction time is scientifically two seconds slower, that's enough to kill anyone. You drive slower and calmer but you pay less attention because you're out there.

Of course it's not as bad as alcohol, but driving drunk is illegal. People break the law and that's all the government can do, is assure consequences for being caught.

 

Good point, but when you're high and you understand that your life could be put in danger by driving, you make significant attempts to stay focused. You try and pay attention to more things and make sure you're doing everything right, which falls into paranoia. But there is still a lot going on and you're still not sure how to deal with everything, so the pressure can really get to someone behind the wheel. Although it's easy as fuck to drive stoned if you're not used to it, it could be a problemo.

Agree with both you and Jesse. I think it really depends on the person. I think I drive BETTER high to be honest. The reason for this, I think, is because if I'm baked I typically have stuff in the car and/or the car smells like bud, so I'm super careful to drive perfectly and not speed so I don't get pulled over. There are people who drive bad high, but they normally can't drive well not high either. I hope if/when they make it legal you can get your driving high license. Like you go there to a course, smoke a lot of dank in front of the people, and drive extensively having your performance judged. If you fail, can't retest for say like 6months to a year.

Well it depends how high you are, but here's the thing, when I'm high and everything is rocking back and forth and I can't even walk in a straight line, I have the free will to get on my bicycle, but while high I can still think and make good choices and I'm able to realize that if I can't even walk in a straight line then maybe I shouldn't ride my bike.

If you're too high then you probably wouldn't be able to move, but if you're high enough you could crash.

Now I don't know what it's like to be drunk but obviously you can't really make decisions when you're drunk.

 

I'm not going to read any of the posts previous of mine, The legalization of marijuana will never happen for the soul fact of American mothers, Fathers, and parental figures need something to hate. The government needs stuff to cover up, and we are all just brainwashed by the idea. As a kid I was so afraid to even look at pot, but now I just want to smoke as much as I can. Everyone as a kid has it in their head that marijuana is the worst drug you can possibly find It will rip your lungs out and turn you into a demon. In reality people dont even see that marijuana could help us, if they sold it medical in store, and tax the imports, imagine what that'd do to the economy? I don't see any negetives. Watch the movie super high me, he gets stoned for 30 days straight, and it actually in a way helps him. As said in the bible "Everyone shall love what thy planet created"

Same here. When I first saw pot I freaked out and I was like wtf to the kid who had it. lol then my friend, that at the time I was surprised to find out he smoked, told me all the facts about it and I said bullshit, but I actually looked it up and it was all true, just a harmless plant. About a year later I end up smoking the stuff myself.

 

I agree: Weed's been so stigmatized and demonized over the years that people have forgotten that it is little more than a harmless plant. Certainly less harmful than tobacco. On that note, has anyone mentioned so far that while it contains more carcinogens than tobacco, studies have shown no link between cancer and pure weed smoking (not with tobacco). It has been suggested that this is because of the THC, CBD and other cannabinoids in the ganja preventing the growth of cancer. (Something to do with inhibiting a gene I think)

Yeah, weed has some of the same carcinogens as tobacco, but since it also has a lot of chemicals that prevent cancer, you will have a very hard time getting cancer from weed, especially considering it's not addicting like tobacco. Weed even has like 4 times more tar than tobacco and tobacco still is more harmful. I honestly have no idea what harm someone high on Marijuana can do to others other than a car accident, which is highly uncommon.

 

I'm all for the legalization of Marijuana, but driving high should be severely punished. The reason that your "super careful" is because you don't want to be pulled over. If it's completely legalized, what will keep you driving "super careful?" It needs to be much like alcohol, as without laws against drunk driving, people would simply drive drunk, and not give a shit. With laws against driving under the influence of weed, people will either: not drive high, or drive extremely carefully, as you do now high.

 

The problem is, it's very very hard to catch a perosn high. I have been many times and sometimes people haven't even noticed. Besides, drug tests are invalid because THC stays in your body for weeks (I could show up positive for months xD)

 

Well, if nobody can even tell that somebody is high (like, he's driving fine) is there really any harm?
