xbox live help

alright guys im new to sythe and recently i have gotten my xbox live back but sence i had to move back with my foster parents i have to use a mac computer and there internet provider is aliant if anyone knows what that is.
anyway when i hook the xbox live cable to my modem and the back of my 360 the xbox live wont connect. i tried everything! can someone please help. ill glady give a runescape account sence i think the game is terrible. but i want the help first. this isnt a free acc. i want the help.

Try plugging the Xbox ethernet cable straight into the back of your computer, go to "network connections" in your control panel, and click your connection and click on "shared"

Then go to your Xbox, go to system settings, and automatically configure your IP address and gateway networks etc, it will do it automatically if you've connected your xbox to the computer.

Its just another way to do it without going through your gateway connection.

If it doesn't work, it might have something to do with your ISP (Internet service provider) and you should ring them up.

I had the same problems, but i fixed it myself doing it this way.

 

still doesnt work. i got a mac OSx 10.4.11 and i tried the sharing thing etc. my 360/modem and computer are rate next to each other do i need a wireless router.?
