Sythe IM

I think it is a good idea, but to tell you the truth. The Sythe staff are not getting paid at all, so developing something totally new would be something way out of their league.

But, maybe there is an existing addon to vBulletin that have this.. I'll try looking around.

 

Im sure this has been bought up before? Theres only going to be one answer for this suggestion and that is, Sythe staff don't get paid and are totally voluntary and they are not going to devote their time into making something as big as this. Totally coding a whole IM will take some time and alot of dedication.

 

Not really a good idea. It would be quite hard to make and how are you supposed to see someone's IP in this anyways. What you should do is simply make a new group in your Windows Live Messenger titled Sythe.

If first creating an IM, it would be easy to log ips whit it. I would recommend you read the thread before posting. More riddy msn list was only one of the reasons.

 

Could just setup an IRC chan and use it.

 

I honestly cannot see any significant gains from creating a Sythe instant messenger. It prevents obvious imposters, like "chaosspartan," but not scammers nor hacked accounts.

On the flip side, there is a long list of negatives, beginning with the ridiculous amount of work needed.

 

It would prevent many scam methods. Like the one "My msn got hacked, it wasn't me!". And it would be easier to get proof against scammers, so I think the total scamming would lower abit.

If you have the long list of your negatives, couldn't you just list them up here? I have already have the one you said, but if you have so many others, couldn't you just line it up here?

We USED to have an IRC server, it got removed because the rules weren't applied or some ridiculous shit like that.

 

msn is better than anything you could make. Don't waste time on a pointless task that will go nowhere. I completely disagree.

 

This has been brought up in the past before and been denied. Too much work for admins to do. Mainly Matthew if he is still alive.

 

If, for some strange reason, this idea was approved my guess is that it would turn into the Sythe MMORPG development project reborn. As others have pointed out the Sythe community does not have resources nor the time to create such a project.

 

i don't know if this is prohibited on sythe but freepowerboards . com has a built in chat system when you make a power board...logs the chats and everything
